My dad recommended that my wife and I stay at the Ace when we recently visited Palm Springs, and we were not disappointed. Yes, it aims for the hipster crowd (which child rearing sapped out from us years ago) and has many attributes that caters to that market, but it had everything we needed. The room was on the smaller side, but had a king sized, comfortable bed and nice touches of accessories, including mini-fridge, hair dryer, iron and optional snacks and bar. We particularly liked the canvas based theme of the decor. The room was along the main street (Palm Canyon) frontage, but it was totally quiet within the room, and we had a great sleep. The pool area was nice, with a lot of seating and warm enough pool and large hot tub for the 60 degree weather. It also had outdoor fireplaces and picnic tables for guests' enjoyment. We did not try the restaurant or lounge, but plenty of folks seemed to be enjoying both. Staff was friendly and helpful A little on the expensive side, but I would recommend the place.
