“Great location and price, so don't expect a luxury resort room.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2012

I stayed here the day after Xmas as they had an excellect special for under $100 a night. It was by far one of the most affordable room rates. The location was great and within walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops and bars. I liked this location because it is only a 20 minute drive to the Cabazon outlet stores, and is less than a 5 minute drive to the Palm Springs Tram to go up the mountain.

Just don't expect to be getting a luxurious resort hotel room, and you will be just fine. The room was pretty dark. Strange that the shower doesn't have a light in it, so you literally have to leave the shower curtain cracked open so that you can see what you're doing! There's a balcony, but there's not a full wall separating the balconies from each room, so someone can literally walk up to your balcony bedroom window if they were inclined to do so.

Overall I had a good experience and would recommend this place if you're on a budget and don't care about having a fancy room.

The Palm Mountain Resort has the very best location (just steps to downtown), the very best pool (it's enormous, with plenty of umbrellas/lounges and towels and a big jacuzzi), and the very best staff (everybody is so efficient and friendly). Check their website for great prices -- and book early because they often sell out. No surprise there.

Room Tip: All the Garden Rooms ae superb, upgrade to a higher floor for great views.

My husband and I stayed here on our first trip to Palm Springs. We were not planning on staying the night, so we had nothing booked. After running into several hotels on the main road and leaving because they were booked or wanted $400 we stumbled on this hotel. They gave us a great last minute rate. This hotel is very well located just a block off the main shopping district and yet is in a nice quiet neighborhood.

Our room was located on the first floor and pool side. Since we arrived at night it was a nice surprise to wake up in the morning and see the beautiful mountain views!

This hotel is very well located just a block off the main shopping district and yet is in a nice quiet neighbourhood. The grounds include many grapefruit trees and a lemon tree, all of which contained fully ripe fruit during our stay here over new years. We were encouraged to pick fruit and did so. The grapefruits made great additions to our breakfasts and the lemons made a nice touch to our evening martini. I suggest that you try to get a ground floor room that faces onto the pool but beware of the beds (the mattress in our room was a bit hard). Also, bring your own pillows.

Room Tip: Choose a room that is around the pool and on the ground floor so you can walk out easily. The rooms...

Stayed here for 8 nites December 2011.... Absolutely fantastic location...1 block from starbucks and downtown... Close to eating areas... Check out matchbox and rubys diner which are super close on Palm Canyon Drive. A 1 minute walk at most.
Pool area is beautiful as well as the grounds themselves....Gardeners do a great job of keeping everything immaculate.
Rooms are nice and clean... Our room needed some work but we didn't complain. We did leave list of things that needed to be fixed when we left.... (Dated TV didn't work most of time but we really didn't care, bathrooms with no fans which causes water damage as you could tell, plumbing fixtures all loose and dated).... But like I said we didn't spend a whole lot of time in room so it wasn't a big deal to us.... Others it may have bothered....
The staff was super friendly, assisted us and arranged shuttle or whatever we needed.
We will absolutely be staying here again.... You certainly save on car rental fees as you can walk PCD easily and shop.... Don't hesitate about staying here, you'll love the location, views, and pool.....

Room Tip: We had first floor garden room....quite nice with little patio...

We were very cordially greeted at chech-in. It was New Years Eve and the hotel was full. Our room was ready early, so we were able to enjoy the lovely pool area for the limited remaining hours of sunshine. Being near the west mountain, the sun was setting shortly after 3 p.m. We booked and stayed for 5 nights in a ground floor pool-side room with fridge & microwave. It was everything that we wanted. Wi-fi worked throughout the property and a printer was available in the lobby. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops within a block or two. Do not expect too much in the way of "resort".

Room Tip: Ask for a pool-side room on the ground floor.

I recommend this property because of it's proximity to downtown and therelaxing feel of the area. The property is located one block west of downtown Palm Springs, an easy walk to places such as a coffee house, shopping and various restaurants. They have a heated pool and spa, with views of the San Jacinto Mountains. The grounds are very well maintained and spacious rooms. The walk-in shower and the super comfortable beds were a big plus for me.

Room Tip: North side rooms are large and sunny.
