I have diamond status as part of the Hilton Honors program. They classify this Hilton as a category 6. Definitely not! Even the Beverly Hilton comes in at category 5 - they have plasma screens in the BATHROOM, L' Occitane amenities, frequent sightings of celebs, is located in Beverly Hills proper, etc. The Key West Hilton has a comparable rating, but is a far better resort, with breakfast on the pier 90 miles from Cuba!

This Hilton has average rooms inside an average pile of bricks, with average conference rooms, with average food at average restaurants, average drinks at a below average bar.

However, summer prices are a bargain! (One) hotel computer is free for use by guests - though some guests tie it up. You can't really beat it for location - central PS. Don't forget the resort fee, parking fee, etc. Always ask for an upgrade.

  • Liked — location, free hotel computer use
  • Disliked — average hotel demanding upscale resort prices, plus mis categorization by the Hilton Hotel Corp.

This hotel was a nightmare. Every room reeks of mold with visible growth. I am auto immune from exposure to mold and made this clear when cherry at the front desk assured me she would personally check the room. The security guy bili looked like an escaped convict and when after viewing 6 rooms with housekeeping all shaking thier heads in apology this man has the gall to tell me it is as good as it is gonna get and if I dont like it I can to to another fing hotel. the fing was the four letter kind. I was mortified as I went back to my room to pack this sick man followed me! He threatened to bodily remove me from the hotel because I was being a pain in his A--. The hotel owner manager Mr DADA is a joke. I had to contact the attorney general and corp and took three months to get my money back for a stay that never happened. I was there all of 30 minutes. Avoid at all costs this place is a dump. Paris wont even stay at this moldy dump.

I stayed at the Hilton Resort from 09/08/06 thru 09/10/06 with a bunch of friends as we were out there for a desert golf trip. We've been coming to the Coachella Valley now for the past 4 summers and we usually make 3 trips each summer. This was our first stay at the Hilton Palm Springs and one of our rooms was free via my Hilton Rewards points.

The weather was perfect!!! It was only about 95 each day but the weather for this time is usually around 105-110. The location of the hotel is also perfect for a couple reasons. First, since Palm Springs is located RIGHT NEXT to the mountains, the sun goes down in the summer right around 6pm and the city begins to cool off. Secondly, EVERYTHING is within walking distance - downtown bars and restaurants, downtown clubs, and the Spa Casino is LITERALLY right across the street.

Check in was fast and easy. As soon as I checked in, the front desk clerk alerted me that I was being upgraded to a pool view room - I DIDN'T EVEN ASK FOR IT!!! Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool. The room was great - nice comfortable bed, large sized room, and a big balcony (I guess all the rooms have balconies).

The pool was great!!! It was perfect for us after our round of golf on Saturday morning. The water was refreshing and the crowd around the pool was in the age bracket of 25-35. I don't believe I saw any kids running around unsupervised (there were hardly any kids though - which is nice). There was a huge pool bar with TWO TVs that allowed us to sit down and enjoy some cocktails while we watched some college football. GREAT POOL SCENE!!!

Sunday checkout was easy. In fact, I didn't even check out. I just left since everything was already settled (they slid the bill underneath my door the last night).

I found only two MINOR things that I'm uneasy about with this hotel. First, they charge you $7/night for parking costs (self parking that is - I don't even know the charge for valet). Secondly, this hotel is a convention oriented hotel. During the weekend, there was a huge convention going on and on the last night there, someone of the conventioneers were getting out of hand by the pool and yelling and screaming around 2am (probably loaded out of their minds). Then on Sunday morning, there was a brand new convention just starting. This didn't cause much of an issue but I thought I'd let you know.

Overall - a really good stay and I will go back.

Stayed at the Hilton July 12th just for one night with my husband and 16 yr old daughter. Our room was pool side ground floor, air con great nothing broken bed where excellent. Palm spring quiet as expected ate in the hotel food excellent not over priced staff friendly, pool cool and enjoyable. Reception efficient. Bar at pool side.
Over all a nice hotel we wished we could have stayed two night.

If this property is supposed to be a resort, then why:
There is no wait service by the pool,
Room service is unable to take an order for next day breakfast delivery,
Air conditioning is not working as well as it should in the desert
Shower head is broken (can hardly change settings),
The spa and fitness center are tiny.

Rooms, on the other hand are roomy. Hotel is located right across the casino, a big plus.

In short, this, like other Hilton property is not what this hotel chain used to be. I'd rate it as a better midscale hotel, but if you want a true resort, look elsewhere.
