“A friendly, gorgeous laid back hotel”

We had a fantastic time staying at the Century. The hotel is gorgeous, the design is impeccable, the rooms and comfortable and clean, and the staff are all incredibly friendly.

We spent a week at Century and were delighted with the cool stylish decor and the gracious service of all the staff especially Kirby. The resort has just changed ownership and there was a lot of sprucing up around the place. It was very quiet there during the week and we enjoyed to entire place to ourselves. We definitely plan on visiting again on our next Palm Springs visit.

If you're a "real" mid-century buff or looking for any luxuries, you are likely to be disappointed by this inn. While clean, the rooms are not terribly comfortable - and the limited brightly colored (non-vintage) furnishings do make up for the uncomfortable bed, the absence of sheers on the sliding glass doors which made it impossible to take advantage of the outside light without having everyone be able to see into your room, the lack of comfortable chairs in which to sit and read, the cold draft coming in the windows at night, or the lack of hot water in bathroom. It might be more pleasant in warmer temps. Come with low expectations. Better values to be found elsewhere -- and closer to town.

The Century Palm Springs is conveniently located a few blocks from the main shopping street in Palm Springs. It is a unique boutique resort composed of only a few rooms opening directly off of a common pool and garden courtyard with an adjacent multifunction lounge room. The entire hotel is designed with an eye for simple clean lines and functional ammenities using the mid-century modern architectural style as its inspiration. Some might find its minimalist design a bit stark, but as an Architect, I thought it was beautiful and refreshing.

The rooms are not particularly large, but are extremely clean and functional with a trendy minimalist aesthetic and color scheme carried out down to the shampoo, conditioner and soap provided in the bathroom. The bed in our Standard King was fantastic equal or better than Westin's "Heavenly Bed" with good support yet not hard and with high treadcount linens and down duvets. The Standard King bathroom is really small, but functional with a good sized shower. Because of the small size there really wasn't any place for our toiletry bags except on top of the toilet, but this lack of counter space is my only real complaint and it wasn't really much of a problem for a short stay.

The staff were extremely friendly and personable and went out of the way to accomodate our requests/needs and consistently addressed us by name. A lovely breakfast table spread was provided daily in the morning and well mixed drinks free-flowed in the evening. They had a great collection of menus from all the local restaurants and made some good recommendations for local places where we could eat and enjoy the local night-life.

The pool and jacuzzi were beautiful and heated to the right temperature and featured a great view of the mountain ridge that is the back wall of Palm Springs.

We would certainly stay here again and have already recommended it to some friends.

A spontaneous trip. My partner and I descended on Palm Springs for a friday night out and were lucky enough to have found this place. We love Palm Springs and the staff at the Century did not disappoint. Turns out someone canceled so we were able to get in for one night. The facility is super clean. The rooms are modern and well equipped. We loved the gratis breakfast in the morning. Can't wait to come back.

  • Liked — Gay Resort. Mid-Century Modern arch.
  • Disliked — Distance to bars isnt far but not super close

I love this hotel. The staff are intelligent and thoughtful. My stay was relaxed and I was taken care of in every way I could imagine...Go and stay at the Century if you require Style, Subtance, Kindness, Humor and Privacy from a hotel. The faciltiy is also immaculate.
