We revisited this spot this weekend and had a disappointing experience. We were seated at a great little table on the street. These are fun as they are swings. We were given menus and then did not see our waitress again for over 20 minutes. She was over chatting with customers in the back. Finally my husband got us drinks at the bar and tipped him well.... figured we gave him the tip that she would have earned. She finally came over and we ordered and waited another 20 minutes to get the order. Then, the poor guy who was in charge of bringing out the food, brought my salad with dressing on it though I asked for it on the side. (I think that was most likely the waitress's miscue) We then waited for the replacement salad. The whole quick lunch we thought we would stop in for, took over an 1 hour and 1/2.... We watched people come and go all over the outdoor area... as the other waiters were working their behinds off. The people behind us had a similar experience to ours. I watched him go into the inside bar to get their drinks, as my husband had. We over heard them saying they had been there for way over an hour already. I think that our waitress would make a lot more money if she would turn over the tables more often..... but, she seems too busy chatting to do any "waiting." After my husband apologized to her for being curt, she apologized to us for the wait and then went on and on trying to grovel, after awhile it felt really insincere and seemed to be happening so that she might actually get a tip..... My husband worked his college years as a chef and waiter and really tips great wait staff well, but also has expectations..... they were not met here.
As to the food. It was overall good. The 1/2 salad I ordered was really good and way more than I could finish....... especially since I ate a larger quantity of the fried green beans than I would have while waiting for the re-made salad to come. The green beans are tasty..... though not 'politically correct' if you are watching calories. ;-) The hamburger my husband had was good as well. The Pina Colada was tasty and the Bloody Mary was spicy. The outdoor seating would have been relaxing if the stress was not there.
