“Easy walking and beautiful views close to downtown Palm Springs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

If you want to experience the beauty that Palm Springs was named for ,you must go onto the Agua Caliente Indian reservation (access south of downtown off Palm Canyon) and drive up to the Indian Canyons You drive through the gate (you have to pay) and travel onto the reservation as you go back in time. AFter a short drive, park near the Trading Post and follow the easy (partly paved) trail down through the palm grove oasis. There's a lovely stream (not in the summer) that runs along the trail...with a great waterfall near the end of an easy hike. The vistas are amazing! Wear proper shoes and take water, or a picnic and laze along the giant rocks near the stream to enjoy a snck and the views! The trading post sells some snacks and indian trinkets and will also give you a map and information to make your day more fun! We've been going there for years and we always love it!!!

“Magical!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

I toured this canyon a year ago with friends. The tour was interesting, informative, mystical and our guide was Indian himself and well informed about the Cahuilla Indians! We packed a lunch and ate next to the natural spring/river -- a great day being one with nature!

“Valley of a thousand Palms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

The most fun hiking spot. Natural valley of over 3000 palms. If you walk over the mountain you feel like you have walking into a different country.

“Desert beauty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

It was HOT in June in the canyons. Go as early as possible, and bring more water than you think you'll need. Then you will enjoy this kind of hiking.
