“Just keep walking by this place”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

I really don't understand all of the great reviews that this place has received. We are NOT picky eaters and have a good time everywhere we go. The items are truly overpriced for the quality and portion. By the way, on the way home we stopped at a Rubio's Baja Fresh for a quick bite during our long trip home and I found the food there tastier than what I had eaten at El Mirasol (pretty sad). The seats in the booth we were seated at were ripped and dirty (if the food is great, I really could care less where I sit). The service was choppy (a total of four different people waited on us-we couldn't figure out who the real waitress was). I am positive that there are plenty of other Mexican restaurants that deserve the business.

“Best Mexican Food Hands Down in Palm Springs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

We came out to Palm Springs for a long weekend and went directly to El Mirasol. They don't skimp on their margarita's. Nice, large, smooth drink!!! The guacamole is made fresh as well as the salsa. We shared the grilled beef entree (Muchaka?) which came with rice and beans. Ordered another margarita. Had to return the next day, it was that good!!

“Great margaritas!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012 via mobile

We'd heard from locals and tourists too that El Mirasol was where to go for a great Margarita and we now agree! Fresh squeezed limes, Patron Silver Tequila and the remaining boozy mixes made for an outstanding beverage!! Super friendly staff, charming ambience and authentic food with plenty of vegetarian options.

“Prices Higher Than the Menu”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

Brief phrases that present an impressionistic image:
Good, mild salsa...was asked if I'd like to try a more spicy one. Said yes, but it never came.
Bottle of beer: $4.75.
Mole: rich, sweetish, not mixed well with the chicken.
Rice and beans with salsa: pretty good.
Offered tortillas; said yes. Charged extra.
One person's meal for fairly good fare: over $20.00.
A big place.
Good parking.
Seemed relaxed.

Just felt a little manipulated into changing approximately a $12.00 meal to $20,00.

Sounds like we didn't deliver as well as we should have on your visit. Our apologies. On your next visit (if we are lucky enough to get you back!) and really want a big Mole flavor with your chicken ... order the shredded chicken breast which better saturates the Mole flavor into the chicken. And yes we do charge for tortillas and we kind of agonized over this too. But the tortillas we charge for (.85 cents per order) are made fresh daily in-house from corn masa. And the corn masa is made from whole corn and not corn meal. Its pretty labor intensive for us but we felt it was worth it. Thanks for the feedback and we hope to have a chance to do better on your next visit. Gracias!
