“Pacific Coast Seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Elmer's is a Pacific Northwest restaurant chain and this is the only Elmer's in California. The menu was pure Northwest and offered a great seafood selection. The clam chowder was rich and thick and very tasty. all servings were large and well prepared. Service was excellent and friendly and the manager walked around the restaurant, even when it was filled to capacity, to insure the guests were well served and satisfied.

“Late dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

It was getting late and we couldn't decide where to go for dinner. Elmer's it was. They weren't busy and had a nice atmosphere, better if fireplace was working. There was a lot of variety on the menu and they served breakfast all day. We all liked our meals of breakfast and fish items. We ate, had coffee and finally left - not realizing the restaurant closed at 10:00. They didn't tell us-just let us visit and enjoy the warmth. We had great service, too. Our server was very helpful and quick to take care of our needs.

“Disappointingly bland and unremarkable.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

This place seems to be average at best. As some people have said, it's better than Denny's, but that's like saying it's better than McDonalds. It's the kind of place you can find in any mid-sized town. Not special.

On the upside, the "German pancake" was made from scratch, a pansized crepe-like concoction topped with hot apples was different.

Service was excellent with plenty of fast, good coffee and friendly faces.

But my crab eggs benedict was absolutely mediocre. The sauce tasted like from a jar, with no citrus or tart flavor, and while I could see what was purported to be crab, I couldn't taste it and it could have been anything.

Not a place for foodies. I would have given it two stars except for the good service.
