Endless cups of coffee. Plates piles high with pancakes, fried chicken and open-face meatloaf sandwiches. Service from ladies who remind you of mom. Every town has one of these and Rick's is Palm Springs' local breakfast eatery. You're definitely not coming here for the decor or the wine list...but the if a good breakfast or lunch at a fair price is what you're looking for then your search can end right here on North Palm Canyon Drive. One of the nice surprises was a menu that features a selection of Cuban specialties...plus my favorite Lechon Asado, a slow roasted pork with onion, which was not on the menu (I just had to ask)....delicious! Please know that there are two Rick's restaurants and they're only a block away from each other. The one reviewed here is Rick's Restaurant and Bakery which is open till 3pm. The other, Rick's Grill, serves Cuban/American cuisine and opens when the other one closes....3pm. I haven't tried the Grill yet, but given the quality of the breakfast place, you should soon expect to see a review on that spot too!
