“Decent Mexican Food, Killer Margaritas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

The Blue Coyote is a standard Mexican restaurant, with friendly service -- and THE strongest margaritas on the planet. Seriously, look out! Do not plan on having even one and driving home. Walk instead.

“Horrible food, great margaritas”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

We went to Palm Springs on Thursday evening to do the street fair. We were meeting some relatives and wanted to eat at a restaurant near the start of the fair. The special margaritas with gold tequila and freshly squeezed lime and were very good. But I have to say that the Mexican food was awful. The portions were generous but there was no point taking it back to the room. The enchiladas had no flavor, lack of sauce and unremarkable filling. Undercooked black beans and rice that was worse than the box stuff. The wait staff were sweet. For a drink, some salsa and some guacamole, you ought be okay.. Find somewhere else for your meal. I feel bad as this is my first very low rating, but it reflects our experience.

“Great Time! Great Atmosphere! Good Food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

What a fun evening!

We were a bit skeptical about the Blue Coyote, after reading some less-than-stellar reviews, but I’ve got to say we had a great dinner and a great time, last night.

The place is charming and atmospheric, with very pleasant outdoor dining, and service was very good. (We were having a leisurely meal and after asking for our order before we were ready, our waiter figured that out and paced the rest of the meal perfectly). The Margareta’s by the pitcher were really well done and the other cocktails, (I don’t drink Tequila), generous and tasty. Chips were fresh. Salsa was perfect and certainly authentic.

Food? Excellent Mexican fare. I ordered the Tostada Salad, with steak, and it was probably the best Mexican steak I’ve ever had – incredibly tasty, large strips, tender, cooked perfectly. I could have made a meal from the meat alone. Really, really good! My 3 dinner companions also spoke highly of their dishes, and they are some picky folk!

We went for our dinner before attending the Palm Springs Street Fair, on a Thursday night. What a great way to start the evening! The fair began in the next block, so it was a good way to walk off the meal! Well done, Blue Coyote!

Great service and atmosphere in the lounge - we shared a combo plate that was suggested by our server and it was perfect for the two of us.

“Atmosphere, Margaritas and You”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

This is the place to sit and sip a pitcher of Margaritas while the entertaining guitar man sings any era music on a single guitar (rock, jazz, Latino, top 40). Sit outside on a hot night with the misters cooling and enjoy Mexican faire as well as salads, shrimp, fish, steak and Prime Rib. Who expects it to taste so good in such a entertaining setting. You have to try it.
