“Wonderful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

What a fantastic place to stay in Palm Springs! We book it based on the reviews we read here and were not disappointed. The Rendezvous definitely deserves five stars. We spent five nights there, three in Hawaiian Surf and two in Stagecoach. Both rooms were great but we really loved Stagecoach - big, clean and very comfortable. Great staff, great location and absolutely wonderful breakfasts - thanks JM and Barb! We will definitely be going back.

I feel so fortunate to have experienced Rendezvous. Because we made some last minute changes to our reservation, we spent the first night at "Rebel without a cause" and the second night in "Honeymoon getaway". When we arrived we were welcomed by Barb and Betty, and Barb sat with us to give us all the info and details. That day we enjoyed the pool (with cool 50's music playing in the background) and the 5 O'clock appetizers and cocktails. It's such a nice touch! So thoughtful and generous.
We had a perfect night sleep in those huge beds with ultra soft sheets.
The following morning we woke up and had breakfast at 10AM. They ask you when you check in what time will you be having breakfast (8:30 or 10am).
The three days we stayed there, we felt at home, Betty was a STAR, and got us maps and tickets to everything.
The rooms are awesome, I happen to LOVE mid-century modern furniture and this place is full of it! Everything is impeccably designed and they have really nice touches: a cookie jar with freshly baked goodies, a mini fridge stocked with complementary sodas, water and tea, a coffee maker with all you need to fix your own coffee, and a little mascot in every room (we had a cute tiny stuffed teddy bear)!
All the rooms have huge flat screens and strong AC's.
The hotel is for adults only and that is a huge PLUS. Super mellow vibe.

Just find an excuse to go and book it!!!!! You will not regret it!

Best thing about this hidden gem, No Kids!! Don't get me wrong I love my kids and children in general but it was great not to hear mom, Mom, MOM!! It was peaceful to just sit by the pool with other guests and relax. Room was clean and food was great!! Thank you staff for giving us such great customer service :)

This was our first visit and we went with some friends who had been before. We had an amazing time. The service was fantastic. They serve breakfast everyday and the food is really good and very large portions. They do a happy hour at 5 pm with apps. The staff is witty, friendly and laid back. The room was fun. We stayed in Route 66. The rooms come with a mini fridge with ice, soda's, water and tea and coffee. They have homebaked treats each day. They have nice bath products so no need to bring your own. The sheets were so comfortable we bought some to take home but the bed was a little firm for our taste. It is very close to downtown and you could walk, or a cab is only a few bucks.

Room Tip: Great place to go with friends

On vacation from the UK, this was our second visit to Palm Springs. The Rendezvous was not our first choice but we opted for it based on the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor as the also very highly rated establishment from our previous visit was fully booked. We had a very good idea of what to expect from reading the other reviews, and the website. We were not disappointed in any way and on the whole our expectations were exceeded. Pretty much everything that can be said has been written - the hotel itself; the location with beautiful views of the mountains, breakfasts, cocktails and afternoon snacks, super comfortable beds, fabulous home made treats in the cookie jar every day, and finally Barb, JM and all of the team whose whole ethos is one of wanting to do anything and everything possible to make your stay memorable and enjoyable but in a very inobtrusive way. We stayed in Route 66 and over the course of our 4 nights managed to catch a glimpse of most of the rooms, all of which appeared to be excellent choices. Location was absolutely fine for us. Yes, it is not in the heart of downtown, but as Brits who are accustomed to using public transport to aovid having to drive to a restaurant after the cocktail hour, the bus service is very efficient and cheap and we made good use of this as on our previous trip. In reading the most recent reviews as I write this - two four star and a 3 (?!) - I think some reviewers can be very picky. Along with many others, I don't recognise an establishment that is in need of any attention in either its infrastructure or its service offering. It is an old building that needs loving and ongoing maintenance, of which we saw plenty of evidence during our short visit, but it is the age that contributes so much to its retro charm whilst at the same time providing all mod cons together with a service proposition that is second to none. Barb, JM, Christy, adorable Betty, and those who we have not mentioned by name, thank you for a wonderful stay and if we make it back to Palm Springs again, as we hope, look forward to seeing you all again.

My wife and I really enjoy these period hotels in Palm Springs. Since our regular spot was booked solid we decided to try out the Rendevous. We were very pleasantly surprised by this spot. Its in a good location. The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic and filling. We usually didn't eat again until the cocktail hour at 5. Another great surprise. Nice snack, and on a few nights more libations than probably safe! :) Staff very friendly and courteous. The place does need a bit of a refresh although it is very clean. I might also suggest that a little more attention be paid to the pool area. There didn't seem to be anyone around to tidy up until later in the day, at which point folks were already occupying chairs. THis should be done early in the morning. Some of the chair covers are looking shabby and frayed.

We're glad that you found us, and were so pleasantly surprised with our bed and breakfast!. Thanks for noticing the chaise covers - we are in the process of finding replacements. They will arrive shortly, so come back and try out the new ones!

Stayed in Hawaian Surf - very comfortable room and fun decor. Shower a little small but functional. Liked the location because we were away from downtown - quieter but still easy to drive wherever we wanted. 3-course breakfast was excellent. Loved the Happy Hour with signature drinks and appetizers. Gave us a chance to meet and talk to other guests. Staff was very friendly. We will definitely pick this B&B again if we get back to Palm Springs.

We're glad you liked Hawaiian Surf and all the good food and drinks. When you return, try one of our 8 rooms with a 2 person whirlpool tub and shower. You'll love it even more!
