“Not what we reserved ... but still OK”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

We saw the website and saw the renovations done to the units so we planned on staying there which was central to everything we had on our list to do. We called after booking and they told us all the "Bungalows" and 2 bedroom units had already been renovated so they were ready.Check in staff was so welcoming and friendly. We went to our unit across the street and viola ... it was an unrenovated one. We called and asked if they had made a mistake or have available one of the renovated ones, but they were apparently filled up and couldn't accomadate our request. We booked there only on the promise that we would get a newly renovated one and thought we had made that clear when we called after reserving. They did not maek a nopte on our file so we got what we got and that was that. All in all it was still a nice unit, lots of space for the 2 of us with our own bathrooms. The kitchen was good and well stocked with necessities. We used the pool a few times in the mornings and it was fantastic as well. There was always staff around keepi the place top notch. We got housekeeping service everyday (bonus) and slept great in the comfortable beds. Spencer's restaurant on the premises was amazingly wonderful for Breakfast, lunch, Dinner and even late night drinks. The view of the mountain being right there was so great and picturesque. The neighborhood is beautiful as is the whole city of Palm Springs. Our stay was great dispite the lack of upgraded suites. We were very comfortable, no bugs or pests were seen the whole time we were there. The heat was awful but out of our control. The AC unit kept our place cool and very nice to come back to. We would give this place a 8 out of 10 and we would definetely book here again. Lots of good reason to go back ... Thank You Palm Springs Tennis Club.

Room Tip: We had the rooms in the Bungalows ... they were rig next to the pool. Lots of patio and seating to u...

“Nice Palm Srings Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

Stayed here with my family in a 1-bedroom unit in the main building that was roomy in the bedroom with a king-sized bed but a little tight in the living room/dining area. The sleeper sofa was OK but not that comfortable to sleep on. A + for daily maid service--get clean towels & toiletries as needed. Nice underground parking if you are staying in the main building only. This place has a family pool but also has a nicely done adult pool, which is located behind Spencer' s Restaurant and near the tennis courts. This was a very clean place. It was easy to walk to downtown Palm Springs, where many shops & restaurants are located. Half of the main building was getting a complete remodeling when we were there, but we didn't hear any noise. The complimentary coffee in the community room was very watered down. Overall, nice staff and a clean place.

“Our Yearly Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

We have been coming to the Tennis Club for almost 30 years and it never ceases to amaze! Even in the dead of summer, the grounds, lawn, flowers are always beautiful. Everything is so well maintained. Service is always at your beckk and call .......we rarely call for service and just like being left alone. It's like home away from home.....only better!

Room Tip: Whether you get a room in the hotel or one of the bungalows, your stay is sure to be A treat!

“This place is from another time!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

We were there only one night on our way to Las Vegas but we could not believe it. This place is stuck in the 1960s-70s!

We probably did not have the best room as it felt as if we were in a bunker. The patio doors gave us a view of a huge rock wall so we felt like we were stuck down a cliff. Although the room was huge (huge!) everything felt as if it hadn't been changed in 40 years. You did not feel like being barefoot on the carpet...

Besides, you need to walk about 15 minutes to get to your room because this hotel spans so much ground!

I think this hotel is for families who go there to enjoy the pool and tennis courts for weeks at a time. So be it.

If you feel like being in an outdated hotel full of pictures of Kirk Douglas enjoying the golden age of the place, this is the place.

Greetings . . . I would like to take the time to respond to the valued guest that stayed with us at the Palm Springs Tennis Club, in Palm Springs, California. Please let me apologize for your less than anticipated satisfaction during your stay. We strive to make every stay a memorable one, but it does sound as if we came up short of your expectations. As stated in your review, we are a historic location that was, and still is, frequented by many well known celebrities and guests. I understand your concerns, and will address those that I can do something about. I must admit, I did notice that you did your review on Trip Advisor in July of 2012, which originated from a stay in September of 2011. In the over 10 months since you stayed with us, we have begun a major remodel of all suites in the hotel section of our resort, which will be completed within a year. Comments from our guests that have had the pleasure of witnessing our new models, have ranged from “fantastic” to “unbelievable.” Those before and after changes may be viewed on our website: www.palmspringstennisclub.com. These are the things of which we can improve upon. As for the view of the beautiful, historic and majestic San Jaciento mountainside, I am afraid there is nothing I can do about that. We hope you will give us another try. Thanks again for your review.

“Always enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

This timeshare is GREAT if you want to walk to downtown PS! It is a bit like going back in time- the furniture and amenities are dated, however, the grounds, the pools and the people make up for it. We stayed in one of the bungalows which are a little more private than the hotel building- however, if you don't have children, ask for a room AWAY from the pool area- it gets noisy which if you want to relax- isn't the best. FREE laundry which is great- FREE gym- really is an affordable way to spend a week in Palm Springs and we rarely used our car!

Room Tip: If you stay in the bungalows, there are 2 pools- one is "family friendly" one is small- we...
