“Nicely elegant”

We enjoyed dining here - able to have a conversation without shouting over other noise. The food is quite good with a varied menu. would return

“BIG AND BOLD”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014 via mobile

Escena is on an immaculate golf club with a magnificent view of the mountains and sunsets. Unfortunately the food is overwhelming in portion and in taste. My dover sole was so salty that I thought I would be 'DEATH BY SODIUM' by each bite. The size of the baby back ribs plate and the steak plate were 'HUMONGOUS' that reminded me of Fred Flinstone and his steak. One friend remarked that he had never had left a restaurant with so much food in a doggy bag! So true indeed, so much left over and so many bad conscious; my mother used to say 'remember the starving children in Africa'!!

“Windy but wonderful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

We have visited here before but always for lunch so this is was our first try at the dinner menu. Friends drove over from LA and joined us.

Unfortunately, it was on St Patricks Day March 17 and one of PS's more and more common wind storms aka dust storm was in full force. We braved the elements (wind) and stayed the course by sitting on the patio so we could better enjoy the sunset. I had made reservations as I had expected St. Patricks Day to be busy but perhaps the wind/dust kept people away as it is very quiet.

Others have complained on TA of poor or slow service but we were well taken care as three different staff brought water, menus and took drink orders before the server even came. We were served by Cesar the supervisor and he gave us excellent service and attention.

We shared the cheese board with three generous chunks of cheese...a blue cheese, Camembert (or brie?) and another. Jam and maple syrup were the condiments which was unusual to go with a cheese board along with dried apricots and raisens....something a bit spicier might have been an interesting addition. Olives and pickles traditionally accompany cheese boards so this would have been welcomed as well.

Only complaint was the very few assorted crackers that came with it...4 in total. we asked for more and got...another 4. The bread came much later...more of a yorkshire pudding or pop over in texture and size but that could have been used for the cheese board had it come sooner.. Hint: put more crackers on the tray!

For the main courses, we chose a bison burger, St Louis ribs and I had the Asian chicken salad. The ribs came with two racks so there was enough for two to share. We took the other rack home for next day. The burger was juicy and great. The Asian salad was ok but nothing special.

Over all , I thought the prices were reasonable given the generous serving sizes.

“Stunning views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014 via mobile

This is great place to relax after a golf game! The food is excellent, but the service was a little slow. A bit pricey, but you get really good food, we had the steak dish and salmon which was one of the best I have eaten! Sit on the patio and enjoy the sunset!

“Beautiful interiors architecturally stunning....but”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

The four of us had dinner there tonight, and it was really strange. The servers were embarrassingly
Inexperienced that it really did ruin the evening despite the location. The food quite good, but it was surprising to be presented with the bill whilst still eating our main course, and then 5 minutes later to be asked if we would like to see the dessert menu..and we were still eating our main course, Grumpy young waiter...tables around us full of dirty dishes and glasses...didn't appear to be a manger on site...what a shame for such a lovely venue.
