For a hotel that purports to be high-styled and a guests hotel, I thought this place was a dump. It looked like someone traveled back in time to the Queens circa 1974 and stole everything they could to decorate this hotel. Nothing seems to go together, but I guess if you like Liberace you'll probably be at home here. The staff is rude at worst and insincere at best. The food is good, the location is decent, but watch out for dog poop on the property.

To be honest, everything about the hotel and the environment seemed faux. I would tell anyone thinking about staying there that you need to not think that you are paying for a 5 star property, because you are not treated like you are at a World Class property. The reality is you are staying at a hotel that is still trying to fugure itself out. It is still at it's "teenage stage" of maturity. You honestly get the feeling that it is still trying to figure out what it wants to be when it grows up. If you want a nice place that will provide you a relaxing experience then you can go to at least 10 other places that will provide the same experience or better in Palm Springs for much less expense. If you want to experience some of the old history of Palm Springs and are willing to pay the price for the history but not the service, then absolutley try the Parker. To get my and my clients business back, they would have to show me that my experience was not the norm, and they can demonstrate the World Class service anyone would expect from a 5 star property.

  • Liked — The grounds of the property were well groomed and taken care of
  • Disliked — The hotel did not seem properly managed. Still trying to figure out how to be a 5 star property

This is a great example of a highly stylized boutique style hotel. It has very unique somewhat 70s decor and the rooms are very tastefully decorated...every little detail has been designed. If you appreciate design (and have fairly modern tastes), you'll appreciate the Parker. The staff was very diverse (in country of origin) and they are more laid back than the staff typical of luxury/expensive hotels...the service doesn't seem as uptight as perhaps other similarly priced hotels--they don't "kiss up" as much.

The resort grounds are great...there are lots of places to sit down and relax, chat, be romantic, etc. outside. The hammocks were great. The pools and spa were both great and fairly clean/classy. The staff was very cheery and generally helpful. The valet staff was excellent.

As for food...Norma's for brunch was great and I wish they were open for dinner. Mr. Parker's was HORRIBLE....a MAJOR disappointment. The food was subpar at best (soup too salty, meal tasted off) and I'd expect better service for an Expensive French restaurant that easily costs more than $120 for two, without alcohol. The restaurant does have very unique 70s style that is a bit gaudy but fun. Stick to Norma's and pray for good room service and you'll be ok. They have a service where you get a wake up call followed by your beverage of choice (Coffee) which is included in the $30 resort fee which was a great way to wake up.

Aside from the Mr. Parker's restaurant experience and the beating my wallet took, I had a great time and would go back again if the price is right.

Stayed one night at the Parker a couple weeks ago with my boyfriend. Definitely have mixed feelings on the hotel and probably wouldn't return.

Pros - The spa is amazing, the pools and grounds were great, pool staff very nice and attentive, Unique Lobby

Cons - Upon check-in they gave us a room that was very musty smelling (almost seemed like a smoking room). We went and asked for another room and they were very nice about it. However, about 30 minutes after we checked in to the 2nd room, a couple walked into our room. They gave another party keys to our room by mistake. After that was resolved we went to the pool area and then back to our room. Our keys didn't work on the door. Had to go back to the front desk so they could re-activate. Many of the options on the Zenith television didn't work. I thought the rooms were just ok. Not a big fan of the whole 70's look.

So overall not a bad stay but I would definitely try somewhere else the next time we're in Palm Springs.

tries to be a destination for LA Hipsters at the expense of true resort service and luxury. Room was kitchy and cool if you like that sort of thing, but many things in the room had not been upgraded to four star quality and this was dissappointing. Older style "motel" bathroom, small ground floor patio overlooking a parking lot, etc, etc.
Nothing special here. When we checked in, we were told we were upgraded to a "deluxe" room. Is this something they tell everyone to make you feel special? No way was this room deluxe.
As for the grounds, they were nice but not amazing, pools were small and unexciting.
For the prices at this resort, I'd expected better.
