I checked in on 05/22/2103 in the evening and had a booked a deluxe king room. Upon arrival and check in I was given a two queen bed room. He said they only have to give you a room and not the room type you book on-line. Upon checking in there were stains on the carpet and what appeared to be a blood stain on the bedding. Also there was no trash bin in the room. I called the desk and was told there should be a trash bin in the room and housekeeping was gone and I would have to wait until the morning to get a trash bin. I was wondering if they do quality inspection of the rooms via housekeeping to make sure all necessary items are in place. It appears they do not. The guy at the desk was not very helpful or customer service oriented. He did not even say hi, I will be with you right after I check this other customer in. Which took him a great deal of time. Acknowledgement is very important in customer service. I think the location and value are good features and the place is cute. The internet connection was horrible. I do think this place could have additional staff customer service training. Its a value, but everyone should always remember to value their guests.

Our room at the Caliente Tropics was pretty basic but also clean and comfortable. We had a room on the second floor overlooking the garden, and we enjoyed a good night's sleep with plenty of space for two people. The pool is nice as well and kept clean. When we were there, the restaurant and bar area was being renovated, so there was no place to get a drink or food while at the pool. We ended up walking over to the Ace Hotel for meals and drinks (it's just a few doors down). The tiki decor, interior and exterior, is fun without being overdone. And I did walk into downtown Palm Springs one day when my husband had taken the car to Joshua Tree, though it was a loonnnnggg walk! There is a great coffee shop close to the motel where you can get good pastries as well.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the second floor, near the garden. There's really nice greenery.

The Hotel has everything you want for a very fair rate. The pool area is big and perfect to relax on a hot day. Upon arrival, the guy at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.
The room itself was perfectly clean and very spacious. We tried a few times until we got the door open, the handle almost feel off. Also the handle of the shower felt a bit clunky.
In the evening we went for a few drinks into town. It was a 20 min walk back to the hotel from the restaurant area, so it's a bit outside. All in all a very pleasant stay in this hotel, we would definitely come back.

My husband and I just returned from a four day stay at Caliente Tropics. We have stayed there several times and we love it. Room is spacious and clean, property is beautifully landscaped, pool area is gorgeous, especially at night when the tiki torches are lit. Views from the property of the surrounding mountains are breathtaking! This hotel is close to everything and staff was able to provide us with directions to all the local attractions. The staff is friendly and accomodating. We arrived early on Saturday and MARITZA got us into an upgraded suite, before check in time. We will definitely be returning to Caliente Tropics!

Recently stayed two nights at the Tropics resort and had one of the best hotel/motel experiences in Palm Springs. The on duty manager, Steve, was extremely helpful and accommodating. He arranged the best room with our bed preferences and was helpful, cheerful and very efficient. The resort had a very nice room and pool jacuzzi area. We have stayed at many hotels in this area and this was easily the nicest and at a great price. I would recommend this property to anyone. Our thanks to Steve.
