“nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

This was a beautiful area and nice hotel.... I didnt enjoy the parking fee- but let me tell you the hotel makes up for it with the service.I am a outdoor person, so sitting outside was nice! We did walk downtown and it was lovely... I enjoyed this hotel!

I was here for a few days on business, and incorporated it into a little mini vacation for the me & the Mrs. We love coming to Palm Springs-but don't get out here as much as we like to. This is our first time staying at this property-We are impressed! We had an easy check in -our room was spotlessly clean, we were upgraded to a suite (my wife LOVED that) and any time we passed employees in the hallways they acknowledged us. The pool was clean, and the fire pits are awesome at night.

We ate in the Date restaurant a couple of times and the service was a little hit and miss-but not a deal breaker. We went to the casino, street fair, Marilyn Statue, and the Follies. We mostly hung out in the bar/lounge-That's where the main attraction is-"Donna the Bartender"-That gal is a gem! She remembered our drinks, called us by name, and made my wife laugh (not an easy thing to do). She gave us great suggestions for food and entertainment, she apparently is the "go to" person in the hotel if you want to know the local area. We are amazed by her stellar service, no matter how busy the bar got-she was on top of it with a smile. She even created a specialized drink for my wife-that was just so cool. Rod was a good bartender too.

Our waiter John made sure that we were well taken care of, Himeyra (spelling?) was just a angel and went out of her way to help us. Will was a good navigator-friendly. Charlie, who checked us in- had us laughing, (which was great after being stuck in traffic) Oh! I forgot to add....if you want to go downtown-they even have a shuttle that took us and picked us up...SCORE! We even got to take in a movie-there is a movie theatre across the street.

There are only 2 negative things I can say about this place:
1. There is a supervisor of some sorts in the bar/lounge area with a very loud shrill voice (blonde hair) who obviously has no bar/lounge experience-she kept going in and out of the bar getting under foot like a chicken with it's head cut off and yelling out if people were taken care of- which we obviously were-it was just very rude and interruptive to conversations, very unprofessional.

2. There was a pool server training someone, but they kept ignoring us and walking by, so we had to go inside and place our orders.

So, in closing- This is an amazing hotel. My wife and I had such a enchanting time, that we will be coming back as often is possible, as well as recommending this place as to anyone who will listen. We can't wait to bring our grandkids for Easter!

Adrian was terrific checking us in and giving helpful tips. Room/facilities are very good. Avoid $12 parking fee and park in the lot immediately west of the hotel but you have to drive 1 block west, then north then back east to access it. Hotel is 4-5 blocks from the main tourist street area but Tahquitz Blvd which you would walk on is dimly lite and not well traveled at night. Very nice expansive pool area. Nice spa also. Enjoyed our stay.

A very good location without being on the Main Street. Internet in the lobby is free and in the public areas. If you do not want to pay for parking the are streets surrounding the hotel for free parking. You can walk to the casino, to restaurants and to Palm Canyon Drive easily from this location. The hotel has a very modern lobby with changing colors. Te service is excellent. I would suggest contacting the hotel directly for rates instead of Internet sites.

Been coming here for years back when it was the Wyndham hotel, I actually preferred it then, it was less busy much more relaxed and the parking was free! Since the take over the whole place has been refurbished including the pool area, it looks great but one of the hot tubs was lost in the process making the remaining one all the busier. The pool is one of if not the biggest in Palm Springs and is located in the large courtyard of the hotel. The rooms are modern and well configured, ask for a pool view room with balcony or you will be looking at the car park!
Check your dates against what's going on at the hotel, they are attached to the conference center and sometimes close the pool area to run events such as the 'White Party'.There are times when you wouldn't want to stay here with children. We once had a stage erected directly in front of our room for one such event! That said I love this hotel, the view of the sun coming up on the mountains in the morning is wonderful. The hotel is within easy walking distance of down town Palm Springs and located in a good area set back from the road. Shermans Restaurant is located 2 blocks away and is not to be missed, also Bill's Pizza Place is very good too. The Art Museum is amazing and is free on Thursday evenings.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view room with balcony or you will be looking at the car park!
