Weekend 31 May to 2 June 2013. We expected to relax at the pool for two days, after weeks of travelling in the south-western USA. Two "events", a heatwave and a nearby outlet centre completely spoiled our expectations.
The pool (by far too small for such a big hotel) resembled a cocktail party:
no room for swimming, sweating guests with drinks and extreme noise. We
escaped by cable car to the nearby mountains, and by road to San Diego.
On Monday morning, the hotel was completely deserted. And the breakfast consisted of warmed up croissants left over from the previous day. At least we found some pleasant restaurants on the "strip". The highlight of our stay was the Peaks Restaurant on Mount San Jacinto at 2,597 metres altitude.
