“Good for business, not so good for pleasure.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

Really nice lobby, but it goes downhill from there. We were upgraded to two Jr suites, and we were very disappointed. The rooms were old and not well-designed. There was a desk and couch in a kind of work area, and then a typical hotel room. I could touch the ceiling in the bathroom... Claustrophobic! One sink and tub shower with curtain and no hot water early in the morning...miserable. There was no safe and minimal drawer space. Didn't find the coffee maker til check out. I was told that I had a pool view, but the view was actually of the roof of another building. This hotel seemed like a depressing Hampton Inn to me.
The pool was nothing special - had lunch poolside which was average.
I called the front desk to ask to be moved, and was told that the rooms had been recently renovated, and that there weren't any nicer rooms. Period. We immediately began calling other hotels and moved after one night to the Riviera. The bellman Mark was very nice and talkative- very entertaining! Our bills were incorrect, but after about 10 phone calls, I got them straightened out. This hotel is definitely a business hotel, which works for work but not for play!

We requested a "city view" room (and even double checked this in our written confirmation) and we got a "pool view" room instead. Also, service during this time was pretty poor.

That being said, the room itself was clean and nice and the grounds were awesome. This was a very busy weekend, so I am willing to forgive the lapses in service and the hotel itself was very nice.

Spent some great days there as a family. Check in and out could have been faster, but no real reason to complain. The hotel was pretty empty these days so we could enjoy the space around the pool. Rooms are spacious and clean, with nice and comfortable beds. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are some computers available in the lobby to access the internet. Unfortunately parking is not for free. Would go there again, for the hotel, the lovely area and the weather…

My Wife & I stayed here on business/pleasure last week. We really liked the whole resort feel. The pool area is awesome & the rest of the grounds are very nice & comfortable. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite which was spacious & clean. A very nice business desk area to get work done in the room as well. The restaurant has a tasty breakfast buffet. The variety of fresh fruit was spectacular. The staff was friendly. It was also close enough to the downtown area to walk to & from dinner out each night. We will definitely stay here again!

the lobby is nice, the pool is small compared to the Renaissance in Indian Wells. The staff leaves a lot to be desired. There is nothing in the room about the area. It is very hard to reach anyone by phone, we did not have a in room dining menu. The message light was lit telling to inform us that there was a message at the desk. We had just checked in, why did I not get it when I was there. Went down...the message was a welcome letter from the hotel! Self parking is $10 a night and there really is little parking, the lot was always full. The circular pool was filled with little children so real swiming was not an option mid day.
Went to lunch downstairs and was told there "was staff problems" so they stopped serving and we should go to the other cafe..did that , no service, no waiter, left hotel went elsewhere. Came back in evening stopped at bar 3 people hanging out behind bar, no one served us for about 5 minutes and was rather unfreindly when we finially did get served.
Rooms were fine but we had a long walk from the one bank of elevators. i would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for roon near elevator some are really a treck

I stayed here for two nights, mid-week - perhaps this hotel was fully booked. It seemed very crowded. There is not enough parking in the lot (which may necessitate using valet parking). From the time I checked in (long line), the facility seemed to be understaffed. Housekeeping never came to freshen up the room or at least supply shampoo. I called for shampoo and had to call again since no one came after 45 minutes. I called and waited another 45 minutes before someone finally came to deliver it. The wakeup service didn't ring. Since internet is not free in the rooms, I sat in the lobby to access it and overheard many complaints about the lack of wait staff in the pool area - guests were coming to the bar area in order to place orders and there were long waits for the (overpriced) food. The pool area is very nice, but overcrowded. This is not a relaxing place to enjoy the sun, however, families with children will enjoy the pool area since the ambiance is rather bustling (which is fine if that's what you like). It kind of reminded me of a family Orlando resort.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near stairwell.

We spent three nights this week at the hotel. We booked the hotel through Priceline and so did not select this hotel ourselves. Check in went smoothly and we were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready as we had arrived an hour before the posted check in time.

However, I very much agree with the recent review about the hotel being underprepared. A very large convention had just checked out and they seemed to have no staff to deal with the aftermath. When we got out to the pool Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., every single chair had a towel on it. We found out that people had gone out the night before, just as the pool was closing and saved chairs by laying towels on them. These people then didn't show up poolside until noon to claim their chairs. The pool attendant was nice and brought out more chairs and brought us an umbrella. I complained to the front desk and also called to speak to the manager on duty. I'm still waiting for a return call. The pool deck remained dirty for Tuesday and Wednesday without trash pickup. Probably the worst offense were the two huge trash receptacles that had been left behind by the "alternative lifestyle" conference. They were advertisements for personal lubricants. This was spring break week and the resort was filled with families with young children. This was very inappropriate.
The pool staff said they had the same problem last year with people saving chairs in advance and management went around taking towels off saved chairs. It's odd that they didn't think the same thing would happen this year and be proactive. Many guests were very upset about the lounge chair situation.

We had two rooms and both had very slow drains and toilets that needed several flushes to go down. However, their beds were awesome. So comfortable and the softest hotel sheets I've ever had.

I really liked the lobby area as it had tons of seating areas where you could spread out and play cards with your family.

Eating is very expensive at the hotel so we went to the local grocery store and bought cereal to eat for breakfast and lunchmeat to make sandwiches.

For the amount that they charge for rooms and the reputation they wish to maintain, their lack of preparation was a real miss.
