“Older Boutique Hotel - Great Location!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

2nd stay at the Chase. Loved it so much the first time (2 years ago) decided to return. This time disappointing. Stayed in room 105 again but it now smells very musty. Room & bathroom adequate but could use updating (the toilet can run constantly unless you fiddle with the flush). No hairdryer but you get one if you ask at the front desk. Guys who run the place are awesome & bake chocolate chip cookies for the guests every night. Breakfast (which is included) is the same everyday and the selection hasn't changed in the past 2 years (Costco bagels, muffins, croissants and a bit of fruit). Our main concern was dealing with cockroaches, 5 in our room in 6 days & some were the size of my thumb. Probably not a huge concern for some people but I was on cockroach alert all the time (potentially could be more of a concern in this room due to the patio, however screen was closed all the time). Pool area is nicely landscaped. A/C worked great. Bed comfortable. Room has microwave & small fridge. Free Wi-Fi in lobby. Hotel overall very quiet and location to downtown PS is great.

Room Tip: Room 105 has a king bed & is the only room with a private patio. It's also right next to the...

My husband and I escaped for a weekend to Palm Springs. While we love going to PS we thought we would try a different hotel. The Chase was disappointing and left us less than pleased.
The lobby is impressive and we had high expectations. When we got to our room it felt old, tired, sluggish and in desperate need of a face lift.
The bed was too soft and there was a musty smell in the room.

This is a great mid century retreat. Great location by town. museum, street fair and restaurants . Nice helpful owners.I will stay here again. The price was great for the location and pool. Also, a very laid back vibe and great grounds. Feels spacious compared to the other inns.

We spent our 32nd Anniversary at the Chase Hotel. It was our first visit there. The location is ideal as it is only one block off Palm Canyon right at the center of town. We were able to walk to everything. The prices were quite reasonable and everyone is so welcoming and friendly even the other guests (who come back year after year for weeks at a time).
We had a second floor room with a beautiful view of the San Jacinto mountains. How wonderful to be able to have coffee in the morning and champagne and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon on our balcony (my favorite thing). Thank you Craig for being so thoughtful. We will definitely be coming back.

Room Tip: Best to talk to the staff. It looks like each room has it's benefits. Second floor facing the mo...

Recently my husband and i sneaked away for a mini vacation to Palm Springs for 2 nights. We were thinking of trying a new place but decided to stay at The Chase again. This was our 5th or 6th stay at The Chase and we have always been happy there and this time was no exception.

From check in to check out, the accommodations, the continental breakfast, the relaxing pool area, to the great warm cookies in the evening our stay was great. Rick, and really everyone there, is so nice and welcoming. Even the guests are friendly. It is centrally located, easy for nice walks around town to visit the shops and restaurants, and even walking distance to the casino.

We can't wait to go again, maybe in June or July...

Room Tip: All the rooms we have stayed have been quiet, clean and comfortable. Some are larger with kitchenett...

I've been meaning to write a review on our stay in The Chase for quite some time following our stay last September. My partner and I spent three weeks touring the US south west staying in nine locations in total. We enjoyed all of our stays but The Chase will live long in our memory for its friendly staff and its general feeling of being an oasis of calm in the centre of Palm Springs. I can't speak highly enough of if staff who became friends by the end of our three nights. Every evening we would spend an hour or more speaking to Craig, the owner, who was a mine of information about the area and his closeness to the other staff shone through. Every afternoon Karl was there to check people in and bake cookies in the late afternoon for the residents. In the morning Rick was always there getting breakfast set up and greeting everyone with a smile and he was great with the guests...even saw him giving one elderly lady a crash course in working behind the desk at reception! Breakfast for a simple yet pleasant way to start the day. Fresh fruit, bagels with cream cheese and the nicest muffins I have ever tasted....and the biggest! We always ate on the table outside our room beside the pool with small birds stealing our crumbs and tiny humming birds also coming to visit! If you don't want the breakfast then there are plenty of places a short walk away for a cooked breakfast I'm sure but you wouldn't be eating in such a beautiful tranquil setting. The rooms or at least the room we were in was lovely....not a five star hotel standard but this isn't a five star hotel guys! Spacious room, clean, decent bathroom and we had a kitchen too. Only slight negative was the aircon which was quite noisy but we turned it off at night and the room was not unbearably hot. The heated pool was beautiful and never crowded with ample sunbeds. Sometimes we had the pool to ourselves and the beautiful gardens filled with orange trees etc. Two minute walk from restaurants and other stores. If you want a fun night out go to Pappy and Harriets bar in the desert in Pioneertown about a half hours drive away. Authentic old time western atmosphere and an old western movie stage set beside it for amazing photo opportunity...never been anywhere like it. People like Robert Plant etc have been known to pop in! Loved The Chase so much we are returning in May...can't wait!!

The Chase was excellent...for us. And we fully realize, you may not be us. This isn't the Ritz, but it's not Holiday Inn either. Yes, the bathrooms are old, the place has a few chips and is clearly "mid-Century," but if you can get into it, the charm runs deep and wide. Our room was spacious, the bed comfy, big closets and clean. The kitchenette wasn't much. The free breakfast was bare bones (good fruit, bagels, muffins, juice and coffee). But, great heated salt water pool under the shadow of the mountain, great crowd of regulars and the staff is perhaps the best we've ever experienced. This isn't a hotel, it's camp - if you want it to be. Perfect location just off the strip in downtown Palm Springs, where, if you want, you can come and go as you please. But if you want to meet people and hang, they're all here and they're wonderful. There were a few kids in the pool when we checked in, but for the most part, the place is for grown-ups. Warm and intimate. Good price, peaceful, love the cookies at the desk....It's the goldilocks hotel...juuuust right.

Room Tip: They're all the same, so don't worry about it. It's either a king or two fulls.
