“a little tired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

The Inn Exile used to be a beautiful resort. Now, however, it needs some sprucing up. First the good. It's a very large property with three pools and several hot tubs. The room we stayed in was very large with a separate bedroom. Everything is kept quite clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The not so good. Everything looks a little tired and needs to be spruced up. Furniture in the rooms is quite old and overpowering. They need complete redecoration. Everything is beige. And I mean everything. A little bit of color would certainly help. Other people staying here said the place used to be a lot of fun but now its just dull. They do have a good special if you buy three nights you get the 4th one free. It was a good value but I don't think I'll stay here again.

We are staying at Inn Exile right now. We have been coming here for years and have always had a good time. The Inn was sold last month and is under new ownership ...

The "movies" they used to show at night in the courtyard are GONE. The king size bed under the stars is GONE. The music is something you'd expect at an upscale spa. All gates to the outside are now LOCKED with deadbolts. All outside guests must now be "registered".

On the plus side -- The rooms are cleaner and many are now non-smoking. Though no upgrades to the rooms have been made as of yet. We are told that they will remodel all rooms in August 2013.

It appears that the new owners are trying to take Inn Exile the way of InnDulge (we have stayed there, too). While InnDulge is a nice place to stay, and is also clothing optional, it is not "playful". Under new management - this place could have stayed the same, leaned more toward All Worlds, or leaned toward InnDulge. We think they've made the wrong decision and will likely stay elsewhere on our next trip.

We just arrived yesterday - we are here for week - and I will update this review after our trip is complete.

I agree with the other reviews that the rooms are gross! I too had stayed in previous years. I thought it was somewhat dirty then, but it's worse now. I also washed the tile floor and the bathroom. So gross I didn't want to walk on it. Other than the room being somewhat gross, I found staff to be very nice and helpful, and the grounds to be well kept and clean.... and met some great people.

I was told by one worker that the property has been sold and new owners take over in April, so maybe they will make some improvements!
