“Coachella stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Stayed here for 3 nights during Coachella and had a ball. The pool party scene in the day was a lot of fun, in fact it was quite hard at times to leave and head to the festival but air con busses out the front made it easy.
Rooms are decent and comfortable but nothing too fancy. The building itself is pretty cool if you like modernist architecture, and views to the mountains spectacular.
The food in El Jefe is excellent, really good tacos and cocktails. They seemed to struggle with the number of people though and service was pretty poor. In fact at one point we walked out half way through meal as no one would serve us or bring the bill.
All in all though a very decent hotel. As we booked last minute we paid a fortune but I am sure it's usually much more reasonable.
Would definitely stay here again if I came back for Coachella.

My girlfriend and I just recently went to The Saguaro Hotel and have never been treated with such great customer service as ever before. From the greating and drinks at el jefe, to our wonderfully colourful room the hotel empressed again and again!! Big pool, great views, and a mall accross the street. Take the complementary bikes or a $12 can ride to downtown where you'll find amazing restaurants!! Only complaint was the other restaurant Tinto, do not eat there. Otherwise a great stay overall and would go back again.

This place is fun! Aside from the refreshingly vibrant decor, the staff are incredibly friendly, genuine and very accommodating. We stayed while attending the Coachella music festival, and this resort is definetly where all the 'cool kids' stay, with the resort hosting live DJ's and pool parties during the day. The rooms are well appointed with soft comfortable bedding and plush bathrooms. The food is ok but a little overpriced for what you get. Othewise just that little bit of classic Palm Springs retro magic you expected before all the retirees moved in.

This isn't a 5 star hotel, and the prices aren't 5 star prices. Instead, what you get is very fun, beautifully designed hotel with views of the surrroundng mountains. The pool is nice, but note that on the weekends, it's very much a pool party scene with loud music and lots of people. Don't expect to read a book!

The hotel's restaurant is only so-so, but it's great for drinks and appetizers pre-dinner.

Other recs for Palm Springs: check out the art museum, Indian Canyons hikes, Birba for dinner, Cheeky's for brunch. While there is a hotel shuttle, I recommend renting a car for additional flexibility.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 3rd floor, otherwise you will hear the noise from above floor.

Clean rooms, great service, nice pool area and fun place. And good food options at the pool. I didn't try the yoga, spa or workout room. The only negative is that their pool bar doesn't have a blender so they can't make any frozen drinks. They need to fix that.

Stayed one night as part of a tour group. Excellent pool area puts you in instant holiday mode. The bar down stairs is great and has great priced margaritas and the BEST tacos. We loved the bright colour theme and also great that there is grocer across the road.

Stayed for one night only had some cocktails during happy hour had to leave before 5.30am for our flight. Cocktails was very good, good service and small list. All staff were polite and very helpful, nice free transfer to main Restaurants in Palm Spring, transfers to airport starts only after 10am. Pool area looked nice with cooling spray all round, Room was very clean air conditioning worked well with many controls, TV was large with loads of choices. Close to airport and center of Palm Springs.

Room Tip: Try and get inside away from the heat.
