We LOVED this place!!
We hiked both palm and Andreas canyons which were incredible. Loads of palms and huge, huge canyon walls and rock formations. So very interesting. The hikes were not too taxing at all, both around a mile each, and you are in shade for large portions.
The highlight of our day has to be tribal ranger Mike with his talk on flora and fauna, the beginnings of life in this area, when the agua caliente tribe first arrived here, stories about the tribe, their way of life And culture. We even saw where the ladies pounded plants such as mesquite info flour and he explained how they used other desert plants.
It was a real honour to have the privilege of being on their reservation, learn about their past and present culture and to experience pristine wilderness (it really is kept so well). What a treat!
