“Not fancy...but clean and quiet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

Stayed here for two nights to extend our vacation through the weekend. We had just spent a week at the Desert Oasis in Cathedral City and were a bit apprehensive...but wanted a couple more days of sunshine. We were pleasantly surprised, and not unhappy at all. Mind you, this is NOT the Desert Oasis, but it worked well for us. One suggestion though, there are two adjacent complexes, try to stay in the back one, it's less dated and has a MUCH better pool. All in all, worked well for us.

Room Tip: Stay in the newer back complex.

Positive comments: The staff was friendly and we felt very welcome. The Continental Breakfast and Wine & Cheese Social gave us an opportunity to meet many RCI vacationers. We loved the stories and history of the hotel as narrated by Art. Our room was clean, bath towels nice and fluffy, and the maintenance staff very responsive. We took advantage of several recommendations including restaurants and museums - we were extremely satisfied in all cases. Daily use of the clean and relaxing pool was a great way to beat the heat!
Negative comments: The internet access was poorer than poor. The signal strength was the worst we have ever experienced in our travels. The flat screen speakers in Room 117 are really bad. The retro glass coffee table is nice….but can be dangerous. When bumped, the glass can slide completely off the stand. There was a “hot dog” nite the day we checked in, however, we were never informed of the correct location so we missed the fun. At the Continental Welcome Breakfast we were given a long dissertation of the Palm Spring Follies Show which got us very excited. But to our disappointment, the show had been closed for the season.
In summary, we enjoyed our stay at Club Trinidad and will return one day. While it will never be a five-star rating, the hotel has a rich history due to the many movie/singing stars who frequented the facility back in the 60s & 70s…..oh those were the days!

Spent a week 05/06-05/13/12 at the Club Trinidad. It is not your 5 star resort, it is small, but well maintained, good location, and friendly staff. Because of the size, would suggest couples, just looking to get away. We had one of the small studios with the murphy bed, was comfortable and a very clean room. Enjoyed both pools. Listened to the stories at the pool about the "rat pack" and Frank Sinatra. It was lazy week and very enjoyable. Must visit the Purple Lounge (painted in four shades of purple and lots of old movie stars pictures). It is located in the lobby and also was surprised to how you did not hear the music in your room that played every night. Took the Thursday tour with the hotel guests to see movie star homes, old western town, BBQ, local "street fair" and etc. It was a full afternoon and very enjoyable. The tour price with the hotel not bad. Resort was small and staff knew who you were coming and going.

Room Tip: If I was to stay there again, I would want at least a one bedroom, and if possible near the kidney s...

I am staying at the Club Trinidad right now and I have to say it is very low key, mismatched but very comfortable. We are in a studio with a Murphy bed, but we just leave it out. It's right on Palm Canyon BLVD but it is very quiet. They have two pools, a rectangle and a kidney shaped pool with hot tub, an "activity center" where you can get popcorn, games, movies, etc, you can get a massage for $35, and a history lesson about how The Rat Pack started here on Tuesday nights! The Club Trinidad has lots of stores, grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants within walking distance and it is so close to downtown Palm Springs and Indian Canyon Golf Course, Indian Canyons/Palm Canyons, The Ace Hotel, The Saguaro Hotel, The historic Raquette Club, horse back riding, you just can't go wrong! The staff is really nice and very helpful. The Purple Room is a nice kitchy lounge too where Bill Baker plays on Saturday and Sunday nights. Bartenders are nice and heavy handed with their pours! If you are looking for 5 star hotel this isn't the place for you but if you go with the flow and enjoy a nice quiet mismatched room with a comfy bed, a flat screen with cable, a kitchenette, a decent size bathroom, a deck and really nice down to earth people, you can't go wrong here. We like it a lot and have stayed at 5 star hotels as well as motor ins and we will definitely be back! Next time I'll bring my kids!

Room Tip: We're in a studio which is plenty of room for both of us and our son would be comfortable if he...

Sure, nothing fancy here, and the decor and photos look quite generic. The pools are not the great Palm Spring pools I had in my mind (more like a motel's), and there is not much in the sense of extra amenities. But we were able to get a great huge place, very well located and hassle free to accommodate six people. Other properties in Palm Springs might be more modern but we couldn't get the amount of people in for the same timeshare value. And we are not crammed in. It is very spacious. So if you are with a family this might be a great option. Be aware that some rooms are on a second story and there is no elevator, should you come with injures, or older people or with special needs make a request to be below.

The resort is very old, 1960ish, but our studio room was very spacious and reasonably clean. Received clean towels about three times during the week and trash picked up daily.
Didn't spend too much time in the room, but did swim in the pool, and visited the "Purple Room" in the evenings for refreshments and entertainment. Our room was very close to that lounge and we barely heard any noise.
Parking is limited, facilities very dated, but the regulars and staff are friendly.

I guess that reading some of the negative reviews that seemed to focus on "decor" had me well prepared for that downside of this resort, so that my "expectations" being low I was presently surprised and quite pleased wIth my stay at Club Trinidad. Like many commented the staff is awsome and extremely accommodating and I found the unit to be well equipped, spacious and quite comfort! I did have the benefit of a 2 bedroom and 2 bath unit which I shared with my daughter and son-in-law. They agreed with me that they would gladly return!
I have stayed at timeshare properties over a 30 year time span and while the furnishings may not be the most impressive that is not my primary condern when ai travel--location, cleanliness, comfort and service are much higher on my list!
