“Comfortable, quiet, conveniently located home away from home in Palm Springs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2011

I spent 19 days at Casa Cody (in four different suites, including the magnificent historic adobe house, once frequented by Charlie Chaplin and Elke Sommer) as part of a work assignment at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, followed by a four day holiday. Extremely well-located (especially for the film festival), the grounds of this clean, quiet, charming, historic bed and breakfast inn are just two blocks from the central intersection of downtown Palm Springs, and one and one half blocks from the impressive Annenberg Art Museum. A fantastic hiking trail begins in the museum parking lot. Casa Cody is an oasis of quiet and charm, full of citrus trees and desert flora. Sometimes you can see humming birds. The furnishings of the the different suites (like little cottages or bungalows) are simple but perfect, and Indian-influenced. Several of the rooms I stayed in had fireplaces equipped with Duraflame logs. The beds seemed new with blissfully firm mattresses. The bathrooms had plentiful new plush towels, plus bigger towels for the swimming pools. The kitchens were well equipped with fridge, microwave, oven and stove, but mostly I opted for the ample free morning breakfast poolside which included hot oatmeal, coffee cake, cereal, fruit, english muffins and bagels as well as juice, milk, tea and coffee. It was a pleasure to be able to sit on the peaceful grounds in the sun (on comfortable deck chairs) with my laptop as well as have high speed internet access from my room. There was plentiful free parking and the management was always friendly and helpful. Certainly you can find more luxurious places in Palm Springs, but few with the genuine charm and value of Casa Cody.

I was in PS for a wedding and was pleasantly surprised to find Casa Cody. My rate was amazing the room was a charming little space that transported me back in time. I felt like a 50s screen queen on a long weekend away from LA. Great service, a nice hot tub and bouganvilla plants everywhere.

Again, for the price, this is the only place I'll stay in PS.

Pleased to report that the Casa Cody remains a great place to stay in Palm Springs.
Very friendly, laid-back vibe, good value, and well-located.
Hope to go back again soon!

The grounds are beautiful. So beautiful we will come back to Casa Cody again and again. Good value. Decent breakfast. really nice staff. The pools were great. The rooms are not great. They show alot of wear and tear. Lot of chipped paint, faulty plumbing, old furniture, etc.. it would be nice for them to fix these things. But I don't think they will and it really doesn't matter because the grounds make up for everything:) See you next year Casa Cody.

Casa Cody is an historic courtyard inn located within just a few short blocks from Palm Canyon Dr. and all the shops and restaurants. The courtyard setting is what makes this place rather charming. Nice pool just steps from our door. A draw back was the size of the bathroom, no counter space and the bathroom door lacked a peg on which you could hang your clothes or towels. Our room had a small kitchen, 2 comfy beds and flat screen TV. The weather was quite nice and I noticed most of the guests felt comfortable enough to keep their windows open, even at night.

My friend had to bring her small dog with us and we choose this property based on a few recommendations seen in the Palm Springs forum-and the price was right. They charge $15 a night for a dog. You are expected to pick up after your animal and not leave them unattended in the rooms. People all around us had their dogs too and you would never have known it.

We managed to stay in the apartment which was spacey, cool and a really dramatic location. Apparently where our grand dining table was situated used to be a stage where Charlie Chaplin used to dance. management friendly.Breakfast adequate. pools small but quaint. Very hot in August but well worth the trip.

A little oasis of calm and tranquility.

Not 'posh' by any stretch of the imagination but quiet, peaceful, and in a brilliant location. Palm Springs in August is hot, hot, hot - the AC was a little noisy but did the job. Our room was right next to the pool (number 9) so dipping in and out of the pool and the room was perfect. Local restaurants are 3 mins walk away along a quiet street. We ate at Pommes Frites - a refreshing change from the usual rush rush rush of American restaurants. Smaller portions and plenty of time between courses. Also at Las Casuelas - a Mexican cantina - with outdoor seating and a live band on the Sunday night. Some nice shops not far away and take the trip up the aerial tramway - in August the temp at the top was only 76 degrees (?) much more accomodating than the 111 down int he desert.

Casa Cody is the perfect spot for getting away from it all.
