I was happily surprised to be able to secure a room for $99+tax on January 11, 2014. i booked a long time ahead! The room was basic, but comfortable. There are more expensive rooms w kitchens and two bedrooms.
We were pleasantly surprised that the last weekend of the Palm Springs International Film Festival was going on. We went to 4 films in 3 days. On the last Monday of the festival the favorite movies showed for a second time. One of the venues was only two blocks away at one of museums.
Downtown was also only two blocks away. Unfortunately, the 26' statute of Marilyn Monroe with her skirt being blown up will be gone!
There is a great hiking book available with 140 hikes at the native American museum a few blocks away in downtown. There was water in the streams even though it was the third year of an extreme drought. We enjoyed hikes in the California fan palms.
Great winter get away from the cold of Colorado. 70-80 during the day. Low 50's at night.
