“Cozy and nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

I love the atmosphere. We were tucked into a nice booth with our friends. Service was great and food was excellent. Great appetizers, salads and beef.

“Fabulous as always!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

The food at Cork Tree is always wonderful! We have taken friends there twice during our visit here this year & they have all raved about the food. It's in a strip mall, but you'd never know it once you step inside, it's a lovely restaurant with terrific service.

“Best Find in the Valley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

Truly an outstanding meal. We went on the advice of another guest who we met at the JW Marriott (across the street from the restaurant) who told us that the Cork Tree was not to be missed while we were in the area. So right! We arrived on a packed Sunday night and still managed to have excellent, attentive professional service and an absolutely delicious meal. Two of us shared a giant, fresh heirloom tomato, feta and basil salad...enormous size tomato but every bite was fresh and delicious...and a micro greens salad with oven roasted yellow tomatoes. Then moved on to the duck mini tacos (tasty and very eye appealing) and an order of the Patagonian sea bass with tiny diced Yukon gold potatoes, sauteed shitake mushrooms and watercress....an outstanding dish and the fish was moist and perfectly cooked. Also each had a glass of wine, one sauvignon blanc and another a red blend, and both were very generous proportions, so one glass was ample for the meal. The chef came by toward the end of the evening and visited a few tables and from the enthusiastic reactions he received from the tables around us...as well from us...there was no doubt he had made many people very satisfied with their meals that night. Wholeheartly recommend!

“Don't judge this restaurant by its location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We chose Cork Tree because our resort gave us a coupon, but I was a little wary given its strip center location. It turned out to be the best meal of our entire vacation! We sat on a great outdoor patio and ordered a glass of wine. The wines by the glass list had some excellent choices. After the description of the appetizer special we had to have it. It was a gorgeous heirloom tomato from that day's farmers' market and it was sliced and layered with feta cheese and a black olive/basil/olive oil drizzle. It was heaven in my mouth!! My husband had the skirt steak with portobello mushrooms and I had the scallops with black rice. We couldn't stop raving about each and every bite! It was so delicious that we went back another night and sat at the bar. We had the local cheese and fruit board with local honey and their homemade bread and fortunately, left enough room for their apple tart with homemade ice cream and a sea salt caramel drizzle. The wait/bar staff was very friendly and very helpful with their suggestions. This is a definite MUST DO in Palm Desert! Open Table reservations.

“Our Third Time - Still A Jewel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We still think this restaurant is one of the best in all of Southern California. Top-notch service, beautiful presentations, delicious food, and moderate prices make for a terrific evening. My escargot was a unique but wonderful individual puff pastry serving, with a little braised short ribs in the garlic butter. The Duck Mini-tacos were visually appealing and excellent. Their signature dish "pork shank" was scrumptous. They serve a very pleasant and inexpensive Merlot by Coppola. For desert we enjoyed the gelato/sorbet sampler. This time we met one of the owners, Ray, and he is there to insure that his staff maintains the high quality of his restaurant.
