Nice Embassy Suites and fairly typical of the brand. Nice pool and excellent staff. Don't plan to sleep on the pull-out couch unless you like the feel of springs. Wi-fi is so-so: Couldn't watch Netflix.

Loved this hotel as it was most luxurious. Courtyard was lovely and worth staying at.
Beds very comfortable except for pull out sofas. Food was generous, happy hour good, need more nachos and cheese. Very expensive during Spring Break, otherwise well worth a visit. My preference by far is to stay near Palm Desert as it has a nice Saturday and Sunday Market, near living desert, high end shops. Hotel staff were good.

Room Tip: Ask for two double bed suite and ask for a suitable mattress for sofa that is softer than the ones...

I am a Hilton Gold and stay at a lot of Hilton hotels. I typically will stay at an Embassy Suite when vacationing with my family because of the separate rooms with a pull out sofa bed as well as the typically great hot cooked to order breakfasts. I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights, so I had a lot of time to determine that this hotel was not up to Hilton standards. Hmm...where do I start.

1. The breakfast's were pitiful! They have two separate rooms where you need to go to get your breakfast. One room is to get your cooked to order omelets, eggs or pancakes (pancakes only during the week). Out of the 5 nights that i was there, I got an omelet. Both were greasy messes (usually very good!). You then had to go to the breakfast room for your coffee, toast, cereal etc. The breads, muffins and pastries were stale and the cut up cantaloupe was hard (i would expect great cantaloupe and other fresh fruits when in California!). The dishes were dirty and the tables were dirty as well. On the weekend, they also had a buffet in the breakfast room that included pancakes and potatoes. If you want sausage or bacon you have to go to the grill room. The last two days we were there, I couldn't stomach having breakfast there so we went elsewhere.

2. Their were not any sheets or pillows for the sofa bed. I found a blanket in one of the drawers and gave my son pillows form the beds the first night. I then expected that housekeeping would see that we were using the sofa bed (we purposely left the bed open), and leave sheets and pillows. This NEVER happened! So, my son just used the blanket and pillows and slept on the couch rather than pulling the couch out. They did fold the blanket each day though! (said with sarcasm).

3, The pool was nice and with a perfect water temperature. But the lounge chairs were terrible! You couldn't lay them flat and some of them couldn't even be set correctly. They also put them so close to each other, that it was hard to even get into the chair. I think they just ried to fit as may chairs as possible around the pool. Not a good idea! I am not the only one that thought this. I spoke to several people that expressed the same displeasure!

Given the negative reviews, I wasn't expecting much at this hotel. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how great the hotel was. Spacious suites, good selection for breakfast, updated decor and bathroom, and great value, made this a great choice for us. Also, staff was very nice, and the fitness center was not bad. The only cons: the reception staff is very uninformed about area attractions, and the pullout couch was not the most comfortable. In any event, I would highly recommend this for a family stay. And honestly, even without kids, my husband and I would come back!

It is always difficult writing a negative review about a hotel when the staff was great. Well here it goes.
Pros:
1. Staff was friendly and help full
2. Front desk was very accommodating
3. Room layout is great with the separate seating area.
4. I liked the layout of the hotel, colors and decor.
Cons:
1. Some chemical was used in the rooms / carpet ??? that give my wife a severe headache.
2. Mattresses and box springs were old and noisy (so much for romance)
3. The AC was not working, the fan however worked great.
4. TV remotes are almost not working. You can turn the TV on and off, but try to do anything else ... good luck. The staff replaced the remote, but the replacement did not work much better.
5. The hotel is a wood structure and the sound travelles down and sideways to point where my earplugs could not filter out the noise. The floors are creaky
6. Kids played the annoying “marco – polo” game extremely loud all afternoon monopolizing the pool.
7. Furniture are old and need replacing.
Summary:
The experience was not all bad. The fact of the matter is, the hotel is very old and needs to be torn down and rebuilt as a concrete structure (not wood). Until they do that, this Hotel should not be part of the Hilton group of hotels as it tarnishes their reputation.

Room Tip: Stay on the 3rd floor only, facing east (far end of hotel)
