So, we traded in our Marriott timeshare at Newport Beach (a huge and beautiful 2 bedroom/2 bathroom villa) through Interval International and got stuck with a tiny studio. The description on the marriot grand vacations website described the room as beautiful and stocked with kitchen, laundry, etc.
First and foremost, it said it would accomodate 4 people. What an awkward situation when we had one couple sleeping on the bed and another couple sleeping on the sofa bed LESS THAN A FOOT AWAY! With the sofa bed pulled out, the only space was in the bathroom! It was terribly tiny. The "kitchen" is a counter flanking the bed with a microwave and a mini fridge. Housekeeping comes only once during your stay. As well, we didn't have a coffee maker, we had to call twice! As well, they gave us decaffinated, so we called for regular coffee. Housekeeping brought two bags of decaffinated, again we called and they repeated the same mistake.
I have to major issues with my entire experience. Interval International is terrible in terms of communication. They send us an email to confirm our reservations to tell us what kind of room we acutally get, but by this time it is too late (according to their policy) to make any changes!
Marriot is in charge of managing the villas, but they are failing miserably.
I suggest this place only if you plan on using your room only to Sleep! other than that, there is little space to do anything else comfortably. Prices are outrageous for the outdated decor and furniture.
