We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa thru an Interval exchange. We were placed in a villa in the Jasmine Court area, which is part of Desert Villas II but is located about a mile from the main resort entrance across part of the golf course. Since there is no "cutting across" the golf course, one needed to walk or drive or call for a shuttle. A pool, and small "Market Place," exercise room and guest laundry was in Jasmine Court - otherwise one needed to go to the main resort for all the activities. The 2 Bedroom was actually a 1 bedroom with the second bedroom being a lock-off efficiency. The villa was spacious. Main Bedroom was large, huge bathroom w/ 2 sinks, shower, jacuzzi tub. Large dining room with table for 6, good sized kitchen w/ "breakfast bar." Living room was OK size, with a queen-size sofa bed. The 2nd bedroom had a king-sized bed and a love-seat sized sofa-bed. Even though the efficiency says it sleeps 4, it would be crowded. There is no kitchen in the efficiency, only a microwave and mini fridge with dishes for two.
The good: FREE WiFi - for as many devices as you want. Lots of resort activities for kids, teens, and adults. Some of the activities (like tennis) are at the adjacent Marriott Hotel and Spa. The ground are lush and beautiful, but (coming from arid, water-conserving Colorado), I cringed at the amount of water wasted watering the landscaping.
The not-so-good: The management. Check-in was not customer focused. The first person I went to said she'd be right back, then went in back, came back out front, wondered around behind the desk, got on the phone, and never came back to her station. So I went to the next person, who asked for my ID and credit card, looked it up in the computer, gave me back my credit card and ID, then left and another guy took over, who asked for my credit card again. Then the room (ie - housekeeping). Room was clean, but lots of missing items. No bath mats, incomplete sets of linens for the pull-out beds, missing kitchen towels, dish cloths. One bathroom had no toilet paper roller. When I asked at the front desk, I was assured I would not be charged for missing inventory, but "just call 0 if we needed anything." No maid service (not even mid-week), unless you asked for it, apparently at an extra charge. Book said to call if you wanted daily USA Today, but were told they no longer delivered, but available for pick-up at the desk - good for your morning walk, but not-so good to read when you first get up.
Bottom line - I would definitely come back again.
