We stayed here while attending the Indian Wells tennis tournament, which worked out perfectly. We also took a couple of days to just relax in the resort. We booked a deluxe guest room, which is in essence a standard hotel room with a kitchenette (mini fridge, small microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, bar sink, dishes, etc) and a balcony/patio. Most of the pictures for the hotel depict the villa suites, so if you book a deluxe guest room, just don't be expecting a separate bedroom and living room and full-size kitchen.
PROPERTY: well-maintained with several pools to choose from (smaller quiet-only pools and bigger family-oriented pools), playground, golf, tennis club, small convenience store, and a pool bar/grill (the food is so-so and over-priced). You can walk to the adjacent Marriott resorts (Desert Springs Villas I and JW Marriott hotel).
ACTIVITIES: This is a psuedo retirement living resort, so there are always activities scheduled (e.g., poker, yoga, bingo, etc). Plus, there are shuffleboard areas and outdoor grills throughout the community. Guests can check out board games from the Kid's club. There is a small, free movie theatre as well by the kid's club, which shows various movies throughout the day.
PARKING: free and ample spaces
INTERNET: wireless is free all around the property
KIDS: there is a kid's club with video games, movies, board games, bikes, etc.
ROOM (Deluxe guest room): bed (comfortable), sofabed, bistro table plus patio table/chairs. Kitchenette worked perfectly for our needs (we bought breakfast and lunch items at the nearby Ralph's grocery). The bathroom was just standard; nothing spectacular by any means, but served its purpose and was clean. Our building was located along the edge of the property (near the street/entrance), but we heard no street noise and had a lovely view of the golf course when sitting on our patio.
FEES: None! No resort fee, no fee for parking, no fee for internet. All of that is included.
All in all, we thought this was a lovely place to stay and relax at a great value.
