“Good Resort in Palm Desert”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

I recently stayed two nights at the resort for a work conference.

The resort itself it very large and covers a lot of area with multiple pools, golf, a lake area, spa, etc. The grounds are very pretty.

I had a standard room with a King bed. Initially I was assigned a room that basically looked at a wall. I asked to be changed and the front desk was nice enough to reassign me to a room that looked over the putting green. The view was definitely better, but was right over the main bar area. Be aware that if you have any issues with noise, you may not want one of the rooms that overlook the lobby atrium - there was definitely quite a bit of noise from the bar each night. It didn't bother me though I noticed it. Keep that in mind.

The room was nice enough and good sized. Mine had a king bed, a couch and coffee table, desk, credenza with TV (which rotated so you could see it from bed or couch). The room also had a balcony with two chairs and a table. There was a closet in the hall which included a safe and iron. The bath was also large with a separate tub and shower; single sink if it matters to you. The room also included a coffee/tea maker which I always appreciate. The only somewhat negative comment I have about the room is that I think it could benefit from updating or sprucing up. It seemed just a bit dated. Functionally no complaints, but just not as pretty as it could be.

Service was generally great. Everyone was very friendly.

I did have the opportunity to us the fitness center which was, again, quite large with many machines. I also was able to try the spa for a facial. The spa was big and I very much enjoyed my facial.

The conference facilities were pretty standard though I have to say the conference food was among the best I have had.

If you are planning a trip to the desert, definitely consider this resort. A very comfortable stay with a lot of amenities.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to noise at night, make sure NOT to get a room overlooking the central lobby at...

A beautiful setting with magnificent grounds, a large lobby that is comfortable during the day and elegant during night time, several restaurants on site, valet parking, several outdoor pools, several water features... one which has boats that enter the lobby area and can take guests to rooms and restaurants.

Room Tip: We requested a "room with a view" and were on the 7th floor overlooking the pools and golf...

4 point review:
-Located a little away from the center of Palm Springs, but close enough to have restaurants and shops nearby.
-The property is very well laid out and has a beautiful view of the mountains, lots of greenery and plenty of birds around the lake in the property. 2 big pools and lots of dining options
-We were there for a conference, the banquest faciliteis are qutie good and houses a lot of meeting rooms in a easy to navigate area
- The service levels are quite low (Except in room dining). From no help available with bags at check in to a rude conceirge, wasnt impressed!

Thank you for taking time to share your experience at our resort. We are happy to know you enjoyed the amenities of the property and found it to have a number of positives. I’m very sorry to hear the service you received was substandard. Service is a core focus of the Marriott brand, and is certainly something we strive to provide in a manner that exceeds expectations. We are constantly working with staff on their service levels, and we look forward to welcoming you back and demonstrating a much better customer service experience!

As others have said this is an wonderful resort. Beautiful rooms that are immaculate, comfortable beds, pillows and everything you need in the kitchen. The views are amazing and it's delightful sitting on your comfortably furnished balcony. The communal barbecues were cleaned daily by the staff and I mean cleaned. They were completely taken apart.. We are Marriott owners but used an Interval trade for this property, and have stayed at our fair share of Marriott's. I have never been in a property where the staff has been so amazing. If you request something - i.e,, extra detergent or a bulb went out - they are knocking on the door almost before you can put the phone down. Then another staff member calls approximately 1/2 hour later to make sure you need was met. This was during Memorial Day Weekend when the resort was 100% occupied. Walking around the property at night was so secure thanks to the round the clock patrols. I am giving the resort 5* but the staff 6*.

Fantastic Property. Awesome pool environment. Saturday's are like Vegas so be prepared. Golf Courses were great. Preferred Palm Course. Grounds were great and very well manicured.

Food was expensive as expected. All restaurants on property were fantastic.

Room wasn't made up until 6pm both days, seemed like an isolated incident since everyone else in our party had their rooms done in the morning. AC didn't work very well, Tried to get it really cool since it was 110. Rooms were having trouble getting cold.

Overall a fantastic resort and can't wait to return.

Room Service Breakfast is fantastic. Prompt service and the food is delicious!

Room Tip: Pool Views are nice!

We have been coming here for years. This is one of the most spectacular properties you will ever visit in the US. The desert is extremely hot in the summer-the temp topped out at 108 degrees one day. Yet the rooms are a good value and there is so much to do, though I recommend you hang poolside to cool off and take in the scene. The staff is extremely helpful and professional. We needed some extra linens and towels which arrived in no time. Though we didn`t dine at the hotel, there is a broad selection of restaurants to choose from. As with any resort, most are on the pricy side. Drinks at the pool are really pricy, though I don`t think this is different than any place similar.
If the hotel is full, or you want a different, more laid back experience, Marriott Vacation Club Villas are located on the property and are sometimes available for booking. On the evening we stayed, the Villa price was within a few dollars of the hotel price, and you can use many of the hotel facilities. All in all, this is a great property and well worth the price-just bring lots of money!

Very nice hotel. Spacious rooms, very clean and it has all you need. The bed and the pillow was very comfortable. Big bathroom with both shower and tub. Great pool areas, professional staff and lots of restaurants, bars and coffee places.
We were there for a conference, and the conference facilities were very good as well.
The rockwood grill has excellent food and a very nice breakfast buffet.
