“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

My wife and I stayed here as part of a flight and hotel vacation package offered by westjet. The studio suite was modern and spacious for two with a view of the golf course and mountains..the hotel helpfully moved us from a main floor room which didn't have a view the day after we arrived...not all rooms have views so request it if you want one... the breakfast bar was plentiful and a wide variety of hot and cold food..heated .pool and three hot tubs available though only one was really hot...hotel is on the north end of palm desert so you have to drive pretty much everywhere...a good place to base yourself on our first tripthe desert but would stay closer to el paseo drive area in palm desert so we have a choice to walk or drive...otherwise its a good value...

Room Tip: Ask for room with view overlooking golf course

Great, we will definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends a s family! Love it ;-) wonderful, spacious accommodations complete with private balcony. We stayed in a studio suite that was fully stocked with all the wares to prepare light meals, so nice to have such great amenities for our stay!

This Residence Inn is the older style; it’s like an apartment building – several buildings with a lot of rooms in each building. The rooms are not interior rooms – they open to the outside hallways. The lobby was being renovated at the time I was here (October 2012), but it was not bothersome at all.

I had a fantastic room. It was a studio with full kitchen and an amazing balcony which faced a beautiful pool and the mountains (loved watching the sunset and sunrise). The room was very nice - it was spacious and was clean and comfortable. I only stayed one night, but this is a great place if you are going to have an extended stay.

The front desk girl was very nice and helpful. There’s a full buffet breakfast (free) in the morning which was delicious. This hotel is about a mile off I-10; there’s not much else on this road – it seem residential. I believe there is either a golf course or park area right behind the hotel (it looked like a golf course, but I’m not sure – it was a big, open green space). You have to drive to get into the town. But, the area around the hotel is BEAUTIFUL. Lots of palm trees and greenery – really, really pretty. About a 10-minute drive from the hotel is all the restaurants, shops, department stores, etc. – it wasn’t a far drive, but it wasn’t walking distance either.

I loved it here. The best part was my balcony!

Room Tip: I think all the rooms have a balcony - but mine faced the mountains and pool and was amazing.

Enjoyed 3 nights in a studio suite that looked out on the golf course, a view in the early morning sun up, that was extraordinary! I love the comforts of home while on the road at Residence Inns and this was a treat. The staff were great, the accommodations what I expected and at the end of long business days...it was nice to come 'home'. I certainly will stay here again when back at the area.

Room Tip: Request a gold course view for a wonderful experience.

We stayed in Palm Desert last summer. I like this hotel. They have little kitchen, swimming pool, fitness center and they serve free breakfast. Our room was close to the pool. It was very nice. The manager is nice and accomodating. I cancelled and rebooked our reservations several times and he was so patient with me. I enjoyed our stay in Residence Inn Palm Desert.

We read previous reviews of the Residence Inn in Palm Desert, CA. However, we found the very opposite. The check-in went smoothly and we were assigned a room in the newly remodeled building. The room's air conditioning was not working but a word to the check-in people got things started. Within minutes the maintenance person was at the room checking everything out. After puching a few circuit breakers the air conditioning was working fine. While he was checking things out, he was discussing the area and telling things to do. The evening "snack" was great even though it was served in in the banquet hall since the dining room was still being renovated. We plan to stay longer the next time we go to this area.

Room Tip: The area is quiet and the ground floor rooms are nice.

Just got back from an active and fun stay at the Marriott Residence Inn in Palm Desert, and I must compliment the manager on his staff and their hospitality.

The room; the new patio furnishings that the workers were so diligently installing; the new breakfast area, which is near completion (we ate in a pleasant and bright makeshift breakfast area with cheery staffer Veronica ensuring we had everything we needed); the location; the cleanliness of the room - it's all good. If pressed to comment on improvement, the only thing I would suggest is for Marriott to include a solid surface end table upon which to place your drink while watching the big screen T.V. (There's a funky little ottoman for an extra seat or to put your feet up - but it wouldn't effectively balance a wine or beverage glass.) That's it! If that's my only suggestion, then clearly we had a great stay.

So Go! Stay there and have fun relaxing or taking in all there is to do in the area. Great value! Stop by the Visitor Centre for a wealth of information.
