So, just back. We always stay here even though it's not the greatest and Thank God it FINALLY getting refurbed! We stay here because you have a kitchen, living room and bedroom and if you're lucky enough a room overlooking a beautiful golf course...plus the location is quite central.
Now for the poor review. Upon arrival, we started to unpack. Underneath the sink was a used condom and a stain on the bedroom window that quite honestly, after finding the used condom we didn't want to check whether or not it was on the inside. Still, shouldn't housekeeping have checked thses things out. If the stain was on the outside, shouldn't housekeeping alert maintenance and clean it? It was NOT a small stain on the window, but several inches! The kitchen counter was broken at the seam and the carpets are coming apart. Plus, the furniture is filthy. So, cleanliness is not a priority...we've always had this issue so we travel with counter wipes and lysol. The stove tops are the old fashioned coil ones and the coils are so bent you really can't cook on them. The fridge had a leak and when I reported it, they wiped up the water...and that was it. The leak was there until the day we left! Again, perhaps because of the refurb, maintenance is not a priority either.
I am very hopeful that upon my return after the refurb is done (where what is promised is a TOAL overhaul of the property including a new firepit in the pool area, new breakfast and lobby and rooms being redone) that there will be a marked improvement in the property. Perhaps, management needs to adjust and inform their staff of a few things. Like, when a guest complains of a leaking fridge, don't just wipe it up, fix it! When guests check out, housekeeping should open the drawers and cabinets and check. I cannot tell you the amount of times I've stayed here only to find 1 glass, some pots missing, pots without lids, not enough flatware, etc. There is just no pride in their work here. '
Again, I'm hopeful that all of this will be sorted once the refurb is done...which by the way, according to the sign in the lobby is from Aug. 22 through November 1, 2012.
To end on a positive note...Lindsey at the front desk is a marvel. She is so friendly and helpful. Nothing is a problem for her. She should give lessons in correct and outstanding customer service to the rest of the staff.
