“Loud Noise and Vibration Kept Us Awake”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

We were offered a $25 reduction in our room rate because we were bothered by a loud vibrating disturbance below our room. It sounded and felt like a large air conditioning unit. We liked everything else about our stay, including the breakfast.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

My family & I stayed at the BW Plus Resort in Palm Desert for four nights at the end of March, 2013. The hotel is a three story 150 room hotel on Highway 111 in Palm Desert. There is an elevator. The property is older but pretty well kept up. The rooms were a standard size. There was a 40 inch flat screen HD TV with a good selection of HD cable channels. There was a small refrigerator in the room, a coffee maker and a safe that costs $1.50 a day. The safe instructions do not state the rate-just that a nominal rate will be charged and if you do not use the safe, you can have the charged removed at checkout. There was a little balcony with two chairs & a small table. The bathroom had older fixtures but everything was clean and worked. The towels were ok -some relatively plush while some were a little thinner. Each queen bed had 4 pillows.

There was a pool in the courtyard of the building. There were about 5 working ice machines but since the hotel was full, the ice went pretty fast in the morning. The breakfast was excellent. Two chefs prepared eggs, hash browns, pancakes, bacon and/or sausages, Danishes, and fruit. Juice, milk and coffee were available. Be aware that at times the chefs may be backed up and you may have to wait a few minutes to place your breakfast order. The wait was worth it!

The rooms were quiet. On Sunday, a copy of the LA Times is available & during the week, USA Today is complimentary. There is a workout room with some resistance machines, an elliptical and a treadmill. The hotel is across from Ruth’s Chris restaurant and a short walk to Ralph’s grocery store. An Albertson’s is a short drive away. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing pool may be noisy at times.

We came in during spring break,on a Friday, late afternoon. The staff even gave us a better rate than most other hotels we looked at, I mean he really was working with us, even though they were almost full. Way to go. Our only complaint was the pool is quite small. The breakfast was fab, lots of folks in line, but relaxed overall . The grounds and outdoor patio immaculate with lots of flowers. The location is perfect for shopping, and restaurants.

Room Tip: The suites are set up nice, facing the morning sun

Family friendly hotel. Older hotel that has been updated some. Room was good size and clean. Nice pool with grassy area next to it, saw one family having a picnic there. Breakfast is pretty nice, cooked to order eggs or pancakes, very nice. Free daily paper, good internet. Some of my family was staying at Marriott Villas, nicer than here but not for more than twice the price. Gym was OK, equipment workded, had to go to main desk to get safety cord to start it.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room on west side, then balcony on west and in the shade in afternoon.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

I planned a 3-night stay at Palm Desert Best Western during the March 2013 professional tennis tournament at Indian Wells. I made a mistake on the date for my reservation so when I arrived there was no record and they were fully booked. Bad start, right? NO not at all! Thanks to the efforts of three staff members who worked their computer and room inventory, they found me a room. They could have just shrugged and repeated "we're fully booked." Instead they went the extra mile to accommodate me. The room was fine - quiet, 3rd floor (there is an elevator), everything worked including the free WiFi. This is a large, multi-building motel but was immaculately maintained, neat, tidy, rooms the same. Needless to say, I'll be back again for the 2014 tennis tournament and I'll stay at Palm Desert Best Western.

Was here for two nights on a business trip. The room was basically clean but the overhead air vents were really dirty. This was more noticeable in the evening while looking upward. The breakfast was good. . The balcony floor looked really worn.
