“COACHELLA FEST WEEKEND !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

We drove in from Monterey Ca. and had no idea what to expect about the area and hotel, since it was our first time in the desert. Came in for the Coachella fest 1, which was awesome by the way. And had a great experience at this hotel.Everybody was so nice and helpful. From the house keeping staff to Craig, the general manager. We left our car there and went cross the st. to catch the shuttle to Indio ( Coachella fest ) which is only a 20 min ride.We hang out at the pool before catching the shuttle..The breakfast was included too...Great hot breakfast w/ eggs, bacon, different kinds of bread, cereal, oat meal, tasty coffe...What a great choice !!!!We will be in for Coachella fest 13 and will for sure stay here. To Craig and the staff: thank you so much for making our trip/stay so nice and easy! See you guys next year!

The hotel needs some updating. The rooms are starting to look old and shabby, paint peeling off the walls and such. The lounge chairs by the pools have holes in them at just the right places that makes it hard to sit without falling through...kind of comedic...or not. Overall though, it was a decent enough stay. The cook to order breakfast was great to have. The staff were pleasant and helpful, most of the time, except when they forgot to refill our in-room coffee supplies. honestly, it was okay but we won't be stay here again.

Excellent value, good location, good breakfast. Bring ear plugs, can be noisy.

For our second golf vacation to Palm Springs, my partner and I wanted a more central location for the majority of the courses and Best Western delivered for that purpose. They had a sale on the King Suite which I highly recommend for an upgrade when choosing a room for a week stay. The rooms and hotel itself is showing its' age; however, our room was very clean and the bed, very comfortable. Noise from other rooms or outside was not an issue.
The breakfast is unreal! It made a huge difference to have a hot breakfast included with the stay.
The pool and hot tub were very busy for what seemed like all the time.
It was also awesome to have free wifi in the rooms.
There's also a great deal around the hotel in terms of resturaunts and convenience stores.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return without hesitation.

Not a huge amount to report really, it is exactly what you would expect. Rooms are fine, room servicing was patchy - frequently forgot the replaces cups, coffee, hoovering the floor but generally clean. Our room was on the front and we were worried about traffic noise but it was no problem. Wifi is incredibly slow. Pool area fine and great for watching hummingbirds from. There were two very different teams on the front desk, some guys were really incredibly helpful and others including one young lady who were surly and rude, honestly I asked myself how did she manage to get out of bed and into work with so much attitude.
So a few tips -
This hotel and indeed Palm Desert in not at all local to Palm Springs!
Visit Cactus Jack's for a fun dinner - the hostess is lovely and you will never see such a collection of sprightly pensioners having fun (and a good old gossip)
If you are into birding a visit to Big Morongo Canyon has to be on your list
Also worth the trip to Joshua Tree, north end of the park is by far the best
The two breakfast chefs are almost a comedy double but very good

I stayed here and picked this location due to the proximity to Joshua Tree National Park and the Ana Boreggo Desert which i planned to explore with my 4 wheel drive vehicle.

My room was on the 3rd floor across from the lobby and breakfast area. I arrived at night and was dismayed by the lack of parking. I had to circle the buildings twice to find an open space. I had my dog with me and had to take 4 or 5 round trips carrying things to my room from about 2 buildings away. This was the worst part of the stay with the lack of close proximity parking if you don't have anything more than 1 suitcase you should be fine though. I had gear bags and dog stuff so it was tiring making all the treks to the vehicle.

The good points are the room was clean but very small. It was okay for me alone but would have been tight for two people.

The breakfast in the am was excellent with it being cook to order eggs bacon sausage and pancakes. Awesome! It would have been nice though to have fresh fruits and cereals though especially if you stay a couple of days like me. Too much cholesterol for 3 days!

The room unfortunately had noisy neighbors on each side of me from the same group. They were coughing and laughing loudly till 10:30 at night and 6 am in the morning. I could hear the conversations clearly through the adjoining room door. It is an older bldg though so it is what it is.

The mattress though needs to go to the dump! It was lumpy And seemed to be sagging to one side. Not the best to sleep on so hope they upgrade this for sure.

Overall with the location in Palm Desert, friendly staff, nice grounds and areas to walk my dog on extensive finely manicured turf, and fresh breakfast and the great price$$$ I give it a ✌thumbs up to stay here especially with a pet dog!!!

Have stayed here for 6 years - during the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament - and always look forward to returning - the Manager and all staff are very helpful - nothing is too much trouble - location most convenient - lovely walks - well cooked breakfasts - would highly recommend.
