“Now I know what all the raves are about!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

I've lived in Palm Springs for seven years and most of that time I've been hearing how wonderful "the red jeep tours" are. Last weekend I went on a great outing with my colleagues from The Living Desert and was blown away. Our guide Mitch was an encyclopedia! Fascinating experience! Hiking up a short narrow canyon and steadying myself with one hand on the Pacific tectonic plate and the other on the North American plate was a sensation I will never forget.

“Fabulous trip to Gold mine, town, historic Cahuilla Village & walk on San Andreas Fault line”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

Tour leader Mitchell Cazier of Desert Adventures Eco-Tours provided a non-stop fascinating narration about the desert, the plants, the native peoples (Cahuilla), the gold mine and gold mine town created to demonstrate what it would have looked like.
The gold mine stop was a highlight as he led us through a typical mine shaft with displays of mine tools, gold bearing rock, and other rocks found in the mine. Visitor safety is a top priority and everything is OSHA inspected.
The historic Cahuilla Village stop was also very informative again with displays of what would have been typically seen at a village.
Finally, the most fascinating part of the trip was the hike on the San Andreas Fault Line into the crevice between the Pacific and North American Tectonic Plates. I could imagine the earth moving underneath my feet.
The area visited is on private land and BLM land and is not open to the public. So, the area is prisitine, It is like a visit back in time. There is no other attraction like this in the Coachella Valley. A must see for those interested in early Coachella Valley history.

San Andreas Fault Tour. 3 hours went by in a snap. Carlos, our guide, was informative and attentive to all. Young children to the retired, everyone had a blast

“Carlos knows the Fault area very well and is passionate about it.”

Carlos's people skills were great and his knowledge of geology and the history of the San Andreas fault was great. We hope to go again next year.

“GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE for all ages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

we went on jeep tour with 2 other couples. This is a great learning experience about san andreas fault as well as a fun time..you have the option of getting out the jeep and walking/exploring a bit where you learn more about natures plants and resources years back...it's a bit pricey but totally worth the money.
