One of my absolutely favorite things to do is to get away to Palm Desert, relax, and get in some sun and golf. As a San Diegan, I am used to great weather and golf, but doing it in the desert is a great change of pace!
I have been an owner at the Marriott Desert Springs for almost thirty great years. I seldom played the golf courses at the resort in the past because they were simply more expensive than other choices in the area. But with enhanced marketing outreach, the cost for playing these two courses has been dropped in recent years, and now I simply can't come out to the Marriott without playing there!
In fact, I have booked my old high school gang for a round on each of the two courses in a few months at a great price package...40 golfers each day!
The courses are a nice test of your game. The fairways are forgiving and lush. Always kept in top shape. The greens hold well, The many traps are well maintained and the fairways are wide enough to take a chance or two, And the water holes are a great combination of beauty and a test for your skills. The pro shop staff isn't the friendliest around, but the on-course staff is great and the group booking managers go out of their way to make affordable arrangements. That is very gratifying.
I will be back. Again and again.
