We popped into Jeninni's for a glass of wine and ended up staying for the wine and then a fabulous dinner! Turns out the restaurant had only been open for 3 weeks; we were visiting the area from Chico and just wanted someplace within walking distance of the Pacific Grove Inn, where we were staying. We were seated in the small bar area and given an interesting wine list to peruse. Since most of the wines were European, we had many questions. Our server offered us small tastes of a few different wines before we decided on a glass. We were also given a food menu, although we told them that we hadn't decided yet where to eat. By then we could smell great things coming from the kitchen. The owner then came over and spent quite a while talking to us, answering our questions about menu items (again, not all familiar to us) and giving us some history as to how he named the restaurant (after his home town) and his philosophy about service and quality. We were then given (on the house) a plate of fresh, toasted garlic bread with hummus and a delicious red pepper spread. Both were extremely flavorful and the red pepper spread would be a best seller if he would can it! Our meal was equally tasty and the service was excellent. I hope this place is a success. If we make a return trip to this area, we would definitely eat here again. Thanks!
