After passing by this place a number of times on other trips to the area, three of us finally got around to trying it for dinner a few weeks ago. We were rather early and got seated right away, but even though only about a third of the tables were filled it took a long time to get drinks or have our food order taken. My two friends each ordered a sauted shrimp dish and I ordered sole piccata. All the dishes came with some sort of cream-based sauce (in piccata??), plus very standard steamed broccoli, a mound of rice, and black beans. There didn't seem to be any variation in the sides, no matter what the fish was. None of the food was actually terrible, just disappointingly dull and lacking in spark. It implied a tired, uninterested kitchen. Perhaps we should have had something fried instead--much harder to do badly.
I will say, however, that the service--when we got it--was very pleasant, and the space quite clean & comfortable and not overly noisy even when more people showed up. All in all, it reminded me of seafood restaurants from 25-30 years ago. It wasn't horrible, but I won't be going back.
