“Incredible food whether you're an omnivor or vegetarian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

This is one of my husbands two favorite peninsula restaurants. The food is so flavorful, fresh and abundant that meat-eaters won't miss the meat. The "bread" served with the meal is like an appetizer itself! My husband says he would never know the restaurant was vegetarian unless he was told. I'm glad they're only open four days a week on weekends because we would not fit in the house! Do not miss dining here but do make reservations. Every time we've eaten here it was SRO with people waiting to be seated. Yum.

“Very Tasty Home-Style Vegetarian Cuisine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

Don't be put off by the little shopping center location, this cozy little vegetarian restaurant has great bread and hummus, which is served with dinner, good pizza, and great ravioli. The summer salad was exceptionally good with fresh fruit, avocado, mixed greens and a very tasty balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Everything is prepared fresh, and the service is attentive. Having been successful with their Thursday through Sunday schedule, they just started opening on Wednesday nights too. My only constructive feedback would be for the chef to cook the vegetables al dente or firmer to the bite. Still, the food is worthy of repeat trips!

“Very good food, real vegetarian cooking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014

Many restaurants try to cater to their vegetarian guests by offering traditional meals where the meat has simply been left out or replaced by tofu. Julia's, by contrast, offers vegetarian meals that were designed to be vegetarian meals from the ground up, with a large array of ingredients and flavors.

They started us out with complimentary "bread", which was actually a delicious pizza with some spices. We shared a mushroom appetizer which was very good. My wife had the eggplant parmesan, which was excellent and had a sort of chutney made of fruits and vegetables. I had the ravioli, which itself was very good but the sauce was more of a broth which was the one thing that could have been better. Finally, we had a ginger cake and ice cream dessert which was delicious.

The restaurant is small with limited decor and seating, it's very non-fancy and only really about the food. Call ahead because it is not open every day and hours are short. Also note that (at least at this time) they don't accept credit cards but do have an ATM of sorts if you are short of cash. I will say this - if you don't consider yourself a vegetarian (and I'm not). don't be afraid to go - it's just a complete, different cuisine that doesn't happen to have meat in it, as opposed to the "vegetarian options" at most restaurants.

“Amazing food, great atmosphere, good vibes!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

Such a unique restaurant! I love the cozy, family style, home cooked feel. I liked how it was different from your typical restaurant. We went on a Sunday which is family style. You sit down right next to people, on a large table, and everything is pre-arranged, so you don't have to make any decisions on what you are eating! The food is very tasty, and healthy. You get many portions, from apps, bread, salad, meal, dessert! We left full, happy and satisfied. We also met a great couple sitting next to us and had great conversation. I would def go back and recommend it to everyone willing to do something different and who value a good, hearty meal. :)

“Vegetarian, and if you call ahead, gluten free”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2014

The space is small, so I would recommend making reservations, or risk being turned away. The food is amazing and plentiful. The chef/owner comes out to chat with the patrons, which I love. He does amazing things with flavor.
