“A great beach for many uses.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Asilomar beach is right out the "back door" of Asilomar Conference Ground, a great place to stay BTW. The beach has lots of sand, a boardwalk that runs the length of the beach and the Spanish Bay golf course. You can even take the boardwalk up to the Inn and eat at "Sticks" restaurant. Go around 5 and you'll get a real treat:a bagpiper playing on the first tee.
If you are a dog owner, part of the beach is where dogs are allowed to run off leash. It's fun to watch them frolic in the waves and chase each other. The beach is also popular with surfers at times, though the waves can be treacherous. Whales can sometimes be spotted spouting as well.
A short walk up HWy. 68 is another good restaurant, the Fishwife.
All in all, the beach one of Pacific Grove's many treasures.

“Somewhere not to miss”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

This place is beautiful, but if you can, avoid anytime in July. It was so cold and windy, but it didn't take away from the beauty of the beach.

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We were knocked over by the beauty of the beach; walked along from Asilomar towards Lovers Point. It's absolutely spectacular - lovely surf at one end and rocks and seals at the other. One of the places on our trip that we have vowed to return to. Paicific Grove was a real treat too: we chose it over Monterey and Carmel and were so glad we did. The downtown area was a gem.

“You gotta go!”

Nothing to dislike, Asilomar Beach is dreamy! The perfect place to bring a blanket, a good book, and a picnic basket for the day.
