“BONUS TOUR!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

While watching the Monarch Butterflies at Pacific Grove a local recommended I visit the lighthouse. What a treat! The view of the ocean from the Lighthouse is fantastic! A tour guide was on site who shared the history of the building. A must see if you are in the area.

“Can't take photo when closed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Tried to just take a photo in the AM and was told by a man that the lighthouse was CLOSED and to step back behind the gate (which was open when I arrived). Don't make the same mistake I did. Stay back from the gate until the official opening times listed on the sign.

“Beautiful restoration”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

This is a remarkable restoration - a piece of California history not to be missed. Volunteers are very friendly and provide background. We even met one woman who lived there as a young bride in the 50's! Loved it!!

“Worth the Stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

A little piece of history tucked away. For $2 you can come inside and see the living areas and basement where there is some interesting items and information. Volunteers are very knowledgeable and interesting. We were greeted by a Navy wife who was stationed here with her husband in the 1950's. Very cool to hear her story. Beautiful view and wonderful photo op. Some restoration work is being done but it's still open and easy to access.

“A HISTORICAL GEM WITH MUCH HISTORY AND BEAUTIFUL VIEWS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Pt. Pinos Lighthouse is now operated by the City of Pacific Grove and the Heritage Society of Pacific Grove is undertaking restoration and renovation of this historical gem. It sits on the point surrounded by the beautiful Pacific Ocean and the Pacific Grove Golf Course. The Historic El Carmelo cemetery is across the street and beautiful Pt. Pinos Grille is also across the street. A wonderful destination for your trip. Open Sat and Sunday 1-4. The Historical Society is doing an amazing job of restoration and taking it back to it's glory days is a never ending job with dozens of volunteers donating countless hours of their time. Funded through grants and donations, the renovation continues and there is so much to see. Stop by for a visit down an important historical path and help support the continued restoration.
