“A Must in Ventura County”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

If you're a fan of weekend breakfasts out, then run don't walk to Mrs. Olson's. From the basic Pancakes to the Crab Cake Benedict you will enjoy every bite! The portions are huge, the service is great and the mix of locals and tourists make for a great atmosphere! There is normally a wait but not to worry, you can go inside and ask for a cup of coffee (on the house) while you are waiting.

“Great Breakfast at the Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Mrs. Olsen's is a local favorite and we have eaten breakfast there the last 2 times we were in Oxnard. It is located right down the street from Hollywood Beach and has a great assortment of breakfast favorites-pancakes, omelettes, breakfast burritos, etc. The decor is "cozy" and reflects the local naval base and the beach. Service can be a bit slow, but take time to relax and have a nice breakfast. It can get crowded here, especially on weekend, so be prepared. we look forward to trying lunch here one day as well.

“YUMMMMMMMMY!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

You know the minute you walk in that this is all about the locals and the regulars.

If you are looking for pretentions, décor, or snob factor - this is not the place you want to go!

If you are looking for good food, great people watching and the beach - you will find it at Mrs. Olson's.

“Fabulous and BIG breakfasts!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

This "old time" cafe tucked away in a little square off Hollywood Beach in Oxnard is THE gathering spot for locals and lucky tourists. If offers what can only be described as HUGE breakfasts of all types and at very modest prices.

You start on a busy weekend mornings by signing yourself in at the podium on the sidewalk. When you're called, you will be seated in the main room (quite noisy) or on the "patio" our back, which has maybe eight tables (and which we prefer).

The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Most people leave with a box with the second half of their breakfast saved for later. Certainly worth visiting!
