“Clean, Comfortable & Quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

We wound up staying in Oroville when we went up to pick up our son from college in Chico because it was graduation weekend - and may wind up making this our hotel of choice up there. It took about 25 minutes to get to the university, but being away from town where it was quiet, in a hotel with so many amenities, was worth the drive. The pool, the casino, the brew pub/restaurant on the premises -- all combine to give you the feeling you're in a resort. This hotel is not a typical casino-linked property - that is apparent when you walk in the front door. It looks like a stand-alone, beautiful hotel.

Room Tip: Check your hotel room air conditioner -- the first room we got was really loud due to something bein...

This well designed property was well maintained with beautiful landscape and architectural design. The lodge was comfortable and the staff welcoming. Our room was equipped with microwave, refrigerator and counter space all built into a wet bar that provided versatility. The transition to the casino was unobtrusive and the casino itself tasteful and relatively quiet, for a casino. We ate at the onsite Brewery restaurant as well as the casino buffet and all of our meals were delicious. Specialty sushi, a great beer selection and nightly entertainment in a smoke free environment was unexpected and appreciated.

Room Tip: Our room faced out toward the front of the property. Great view of the valley.

My cousin and I stayed here on our way to Redding for a girls getaway. The hotels in Redding are expensive and tired. So we thought we would stay at the Casino only an hour and a half away. Glad we did the rooms were clean and comfy. We felt safe and the slots were loose. They have good food and I love the on site brewery. We we'll be coming back.

In November, I started calling every hotel in the area to book a mid-May graduation and this was the closest place (25 miles away) to Chico I could find. On top of the distance, they were aware of the graduation and charged me $287 for a run-of-the-mill motel room. There was no upgrade. No jacuzzi, no spacious suite. The bed was fine but the pillows were rock hard. The only amenities were a micro-wave and a refrigerator. The only food available was in the casino. There was not even a vending machine. And I could not find (and asked) if they had room service. Perhaps you need a suite to get it. This meant that you were exposed to choking smoke in order to find someplace to eat. I only tried once. The property is so far out in the middle of nowhere, that there is no other option for food. I never even saw a town. Yes, the staff was very nice and the lobby was attractive; but even though they tried, the smell of smoke permeated even the non-smoking rooms. Yes, I made my complaints known to the management. They were polite but had nothing to counteract my claims. Bottom line, this place is for gamblers only.

Room Tip: Be a high roller so you can request an upgrade.

After an unpleasant stay in NV the night before, I drove toward this stop with some hesitation. No need to worry - this stay was GREAT! At check-in, we were upgraded to a suite because the room type we reserved was not available. The room/suite was so nice we ordered dinner in to get the most use out of the comfortable amenities, Played a little in the casino, ordered a great dinner in and finally got a good night's sleep.

We stayed here for my son's graduation at Chico State (no closer rooms available). It was an easy 25 minute drive to the school. The hotel is well maintained and the front desk staff very helpful. The rooms are extremely large and very comfortable. We had a one bedroom suite which consisted of two large rooms (no door to the separate bedroom though) included 2 bathrooms. My only complaint would be the TV's - old style, not flat screen and didn't get many channels.
A very nice place to stay. The casino is smoky - what you would expect.

Feather Falls Lodge offers a great opportunity to get away and relax. We love to lay by the pool and soak in the hot tub. The normal rooms are spacious and comfortable. They offer a small refrigerator at the wet bar area. The suites are incredible with a walk in shower for four! and a Jacuzzi tub, fireplace and bar. It's a great place to host friends for a special occasion like when a great band or performer is there. The prices are reasonable
