After a fun day at the Autoclub Speedway 400 Nascar Race in Fontana this past weekend, we spent the night in Ontario and decided to go to the New York Grill for dinner. For starters, the place needs an outside cleanup badly. Trash laying everywhere, the flowers and plants looking like they have not seen a drip a water in years...So that view was not very appealing when you walk towards the entry of the restaurant, specially since it's a very pricey place...
The inside is very nice and the wait staff was as well.
We ordered a Carpaccio to share and a bottle of wine and decided to order the main course after we get the Carpaccio. The appetizer came rather quickly and there was the first dissapointment. The meat was cut to thick, slathered in vinegar and oil and no arugula, shaved Parmesan or capers. It looked like a total mess on the plate...Any Italian cook would have thrown it in the trash just for it's looks. Since we were hungry we ate it with lots of bread, just to drown out the vinegar taste...
We then ordered our meal and we believe our waitress forgot to put it in. After 40 min, and not hungry anymmore we asked her when it was coming and she said any minute now. Well, 10 min later it finally came and we had all lost our appetite.
My Rib Eye was raw. I had ordered it Medium Rare with 3 extra min. Totally undercooked. My husbands Veal Steak was tasteless - absolutley no flavor at all. And our friends chicken was raw at the bone..
Yeah, so that was really bad....Yes, we should have said something but we were now so tired, not hungry anymore and mad we went there in the first place.
The place needs a new cook and for the prices they charge, clean up and get their act together. Will not go back.
