“Really nice and comfortable place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Our room was in the back by the ski slopes, since it was summer no snow, but we had this creek flowing under our window and it sounded so wonderful. We stayed 3 nights and it was quiet, comfortable and felt homey with having a kitchen to have snacks, coffee etc... The only negative was no balcony to go outside. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: we had the perfect room 320, back corner- quiet

Our family booked a 2-bedroom suite at The Lodge last weekend, and we could not have been happier. The suite was huge, with a large dining table, sitting room, big kitchen, deck with BBQ, and two great bedrooms. The main bedroom also had a very large bathroom, and the suite had another bath for the kids and its own washer/dryer. Even better - the summer rates were very affordable. (Winter is probably outrageous.)

If there is a small downside, there is no restaurant or place for breakfast, and no grocery nearby. But the village has plenty of good options, and a few nice shops too. It's a great summer destination.

Great relaxing weekend at SVL... Awesome views of the mountains. Made in Tahoe festival happened this weekend. Helpful staff...nice rooms. Perfect for the family! Love having the kitchenette especially with children. Can't wait to book another trip here, maybe in the winter. Love watching the Tram going to High Camp as it goes over the pool.

We booked last minute for the 4th of July weekend. I had broken my foot & was in a walking cast, so we couldn't stay with family, as usual in a house with lot's of stairs. My husband booked this. I was most pleasantly surprised. We had a one bedroom suite which was small, but had all the amenities including a small stove, dishwasher, seating for four to eat, and it overlooked the pool & two hot tubs, with a view of the mountains. It was a very short walk to the village & close vicinity to Tahoe City & Truckee. The hotel staff was most accommodating, and the room was relatively quiet. We were pleased, and will return again!

We went to the Squaw Valley Lodge on the Memorial Day weekend. The swimming pool had just been opened and was really warm. There are five hot tubs - three smaller indoor and two large outdoor. We enjoyed the swimming, the amazing views of the Sierras and the friendly staff. Our room was a one bedroom suite and was large and very quiet. We had a lovely view of a waterfall outside our window. The Squaw Valley Village had some fun events going on and there is also a nice bike riding or walking trail. We had a wonderful time and would definitely go again!!

We loved this place, great food pools and hot tubs! The view was amazing but you have to request a good view. Wish we could have stayed longer! No need for valet. Great hiking and biking! Great staff, great golf! Very quiet and in solitude we sat by the fire place at night outside it was perfect!

As others have noted, Squaw Valley Lodge has a superb slop-side location - the only true ski-in ski-out lodge at Squaw, right across from the Squaw 1 lift and with views of KT-22. The apartments aren't exactly cutting edge in terms of design (the vintage 1960s style accordion doors between the bedroom and living area in our deluxe studio made us laugh) but they're clean and have good cooking facilities - we made breakfast and a couple of dinners. The lodge is also within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants in the village. We did a barbecue one night by the pool (heated in winter, though still a bit chilly for us). The one issue we had was with the heating - it was too warm even with the thermostat on its lowest setting. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the mountain for skiing inspiration.
