Great place to stay. We were here for one night and had been recommended not to stay in the Southern part of Tahoe. This place is obviously a great ski resort. It was perfect for us however, as it was quiet and peaceful, whilst still being surrounded by fabulous scenery. We had a first floor room. Very well equipped kitchen, access to three hot tubs and sauna via the deck. This was perfect. Very close to Tahoe but a fraction of
Lake shore accomodation costs, this is somewhere we would return to.

We love Red Wolf Lodge. We have been coming here for years and have noted that they keep the place clean and in good repair. The front desk is always very helpful with activity suggestions and more than happy to make reservations for you. They have bikes for your use, updated DVD's and good service. Can't beat it.

Room Tip: We like the third floor facing the mountain. Quiet and beautiful view from the deck.

Very clean and comfortable small vacation resort right next to the ski lifts at Squaw Valley. Restaurants and shops just a short walk away, and family friendly activities are hosted by the resort. Very friendly and helpful staff, too. Will definitely come back!!

This was our 3rd time staying at the Red Wolf and it was very, very nice. The room was super clean and it was ready early. The bed was comfy, we had tons of space and a clean kitchen. The staff was very friendly and we were able to check in early. It was a great night away!

We searched for a place to stay near lake Tahoe pretty spontaneously, stumbled upon the red wolf which fitted our price range and we didn't want to leave. It's an amazing hotel with the best service I'd ever encountered!

I was really excited having seen the other reviews. Honestly, part of the lack of love of the resort was the time of year we traveled(our fault). The gondola wasn't running, and we were hoping for a few days of late fall hiking, and it was a bit too cold and windy(our fault).

The downside of the resort it was loud. And I'm one of those people that read poor reviews and think "PSha, whatta bunch of whiners...". but, between the wind and drunks in the floor below us meant awful sleep and accompanying grouchiness.. At 2 am, our downstairs neighbors returned to their room, upset and yelling. It didn't last long, but you could easily make out their entire conversation--down to the sound of them replacing their glasses on the table. There is no staff in the building past 7 pm, and since I've been out of college for awhile, I'm not thrilled with the idea of knocking on doors in my skivvies at 2 am to ask someone to keep it down. I didn't expect drunks, as it seems more of a family/romantic retreat.
We had a 1 bedroom suite, which had a queen bed shoved in a a small room. It was hard to walk around it without nailing the bed with your leg, waking up your partner.

We also didn't get housekeeping to our room, and the newspaper was omitted from our door, when everyone else got one.
I liked the adorable furniture, clean linens, and I liked the kitchenette. The laundry is free, which is awesome, because it's always a little gross to unpack your wet hiking socks when you get home.

The location to the village was ideal.

If it had been quieter with either double beds or a king bed, I'd be signing up for my next trip, but I think next time I'll explore other options.

RWL was a mixed experience. Room clean, well appointed, comfortable bed and kitchen was great. Second floor room (208) overlooked a rooftop, a hot tub, a parking lot & was noisy due construction outside, people overhead thumping around all night and early in the morning. Staff was excellemt, helpful, professional, especially during 8.5 hour blackout (which was not Lodge's fault)
Grounds were nonexistant when it came to amenities, scenery, etc. Althought there were many very nice features we will not stay at the lodge or in the area again. Maybe best for skiers.

Room Tip: third floor away from hot tubs and construction

Green Features: could not find recycling bins near but other practices good
