This place was so worth it. We actually got a good deal off of Jetsetter, and unfortunately only stayed there 2 nights. (We spent the first 2 nights at a B&B in town, and really wish we had spent the whole time here instead.) We really want to go back. The few days after Thanksgiving the place seemed almost empty, so we had the swimming pools to ourselves! Our room was gorgeous (they gave us a free upgrade). We were there with a 4-year-old, and the kid's club looked great too. She loved watching the parrots.
It's quite a bit of a walk to get around to the various sections of the resort, but we had such nice weather and didn't mind. Very peaceful place with gorgeous views. We used our car when we went into town, but there are great bike trails around. Hopefully next time we'll have more time to explore!

My wife and I recently spent two days in Ojai and I was in no way prepared for what a jewel of a resort the OVI&S turned out to be. As a Los Angeles-based business traveler I've had the opportunity to frequent some of the finest hotels across North America and Europe. This place ranks right at the top of my list of any hotel I've ever visited - elegant, tranquil rooms with beautiful grounds, great food, a healthful, first-rate spa, and simply the best customer service I've ever experienced. Every member of the staff we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful and the guest service manager, Josh, anticipated our every need and made my wife and I feel as though we were royalty. I really can't say enough about the hospitality we were shown as guests there. My wife and I are avid cyclists and found this to be a terrific home base while exploring and experiencing the beauty of the Ojai Valley. The location, the peaceful grandeur of the resort and off-the-charts service from Josh and the staff have elevated OVI&S to an absolute "must stay" in my personal hotel "hall of fame."

Returned from a quick weekend trip and couldn't have been more pleased. The property, service, rooms, spa treatments and meals were all top-notch. Although it was surprisingly busy for a rainy weekend, it never felt crowded. Our room was comfortable and cozy - a little on the small side but we enjoyed the fireplace and views of the mountains from the balcony. The dinner at Maravilla was wonderful and the service excellent. We were celebrating our birthdays and the hotel and staff went out of their way to acknowledge that - bringing cupcakes to the room as well as dessert to the table at dinner. Very nice. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Herb Garden Pool and especially the lovely Spa. It was a totally relaxing two days. We plan to return and enjoy the lovely grounds and peaceful environment again.

Room Tip: We enjoyed our room and views in the distance but it did look out over the rooftop of the rooms belo...

We stayed at the OVI&S for a night after buying a Living Social Escapes deal. I have to say that the resort is very beautiful ... a casual elegance feel.
Golf course is amazing. Spa treatments are yummy, as is lounging by the sauna and steam room. Renting a bike is a must .. especially when you can bike into town and catch the local farmers market.
I would say the only (very slight) negative would be the service and a few areas that need to be updated. The service overall is very good ... just not exceptional, as you would expect it to be given the status of the resort and the prices.
PS: The chicken tortilla soup off the room service menu is the best I have EVER had!

Room Tip: If you use the spa a lot (including the classes), then grab a room nearby. Otherwise near the herb...

We just got home today from Ojai and spent a great weekend there. The FRIENDLY SERVICE was AMAZING and most notable of this Hotel!!! The Staff was extremely friendly and provided over-the-top beyond great service at every level!!
Complimentary valet service is provided for parking and to call the grounds/facility beautiful would be an understatement!! The architecture/style is a beautiful Spanish style inside and out with out door fire places located throughout the property (included by the pools), fountains, sitting areas, bikes to ride around the property and use of the golf coarse driving range are complimentary.

The pools have tented cabanas with chairs and couches, neatly folded-stacked towels, plenty of chairs, couches and tables.

The rooms were turned down every night with his-hers bath robes placed nicely on the bed with chocolates. I can honestly say the bed was the most comfortable I'd ever slept in!!!! Our room had a 2 person lazy-boy couch VERY COMFY and ottoman.

Food was very good and priced accordingly. We enjoyed the Bird Atrium located behind the lobby which had 2 taking Birds!! This place is perfect if you are a California resident looking for a very nice weekend get-away with great views all over the resort.

IF you golf, than its an extra big bonus. Happy travels!!

Room Tip: If you golf, I'd stay in Casa Robles. Its right next to the pro shop, Hole #1 and the driving ra...

Beautiful grounds, lovely rooms, historic buildings... service was impeccable. Bed was really comfy! Food was amazing. Too cold to enjoy the pools, but they are lovely. I would definitely stay here again.
