“Good experience, good value, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

This is a comfortable, clean, and fairly priced hotel. Here's the stuff I liked:
-the rooms were clean
-the beds were very comfortable
-the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful (thank you Hanna!)
-pet friendly hotel
-price per night was good, we actually booked it through an offer we received on LivingSocial.com
-the shampoo was very nice, one of my wife's favorites
-free wifi internet service, and it had pretty good speed
-they have a pretty decent continental breakfast served each morning, with some pretty good coffee actually, and that is included in your room rate.
-location is within a quick walk into the heart of downtown, and it's also right next to Gridley road, which if you drive just North up Gridley about a mile or so, there is an AWESOME walking trail (called Gridley trail) just above town which has has fantastic views of town and the valley. This trail is especially nice in early morning or right before sunset, and takes you along orange groves and tangerine groves, pretty cool
-A quick 10 minute drive from Casa Ojai Inn to the East end of the valley is Meditation Mount, which is a great place to watch the sunset or just bring a blanket and sit in the gardens and chill, or if you are into it, take a free meditation class

Other stuff:
-the outside is a bit outdated, but overall it's a comfortable and well priced hotel
-I'd recommend getting a 2nd floor room like we did, as we've heard the first floor rooms can get a bit noisy at times from guests in the floor above.
-when we first walked in, our room had a bit of a musty smell. we called the front desk and got some air freshener to spray in the room and opened up the front door for a few minutes and it went away. I did notice that it happened both days we were here, but using the air freshener spray seemed to take care of it
-They were upgrading/fixing the pool and Jacuzzi during our stay so we weren't able to use them, which would have been good after our hiking trip. But, on the bright side, when they are done with the work, the next round of guests will be able to enjoy them.

Overall I think the owner Geoff has done a pretty job with the place and he offers a well priced product with nicely trained staff. If you are looking for five star accommodations ,this is not the place, but if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, convenient, pet friendly, well priced hotel with friendly staff, and comfortable beds for a weekend stay, then this is your place :) Thanks Geoff! Larry from Redondo Beach

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a 2nd floor room, that way you will have less risk of noise from an upstairs neig...

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

The rooms were clean and fresh. They were very helpful over the phone and very pleasant in person. I would stay here again, when in town. The outside looks a little old, but they all the amenities necessary to make you feel at home. The mattresses were the best I could have slept forever, but I had business to attend to. They're Simmons mattresses and you can purchase them at a discount, I believe. I loved the dispensers they had for soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner, this way there's no waste.

“November 2012 Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

Inn was clean and well maintained. Rooms were attractive and comfortable. Breakfast should definitely have the term Continental in front of it - a little sparse. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Would try someplace else next time but wouldn't be heartbroken if I wound up here again either.

Thank you for your feedback on our little property. We do pay attention to our guests feedback and I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you and others our future plans to address your concerns about the limited breakfast. We have proceeded and completed our new commercial kitchen which will now allow us to expand our menu and move to create plans for a larger breakfast room. I hope you will stay with us again and track our progress.

Sincerely,

Jim Johnson

“Nice place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012 via mobile

Great deal through Living Social. Clean room, pleasant staff, breakfast in the morning :) My only suggestion would be to update the tv's as the one we had was old and of not great picture quality. We had a great time I would stay there again.
