Description: We at Azu believe the best dishes are made from fresh ingredients. We look to the local farmers that we know grow quality organic and natural produce, that help give our menu that special California twist. Our bar menu is filled with craft cocktails with juices squeezed right from Ojai's citrus orchards where are bartenders hand pick fruit to help make the perfect mimosa, martini's, and Richies famous Bloody Mary. We love supporting our California wineries, breweries, farmers, and hormone free companies. We buy locally and organically whenever possible and strive to add a California twist to our Spanish inspired menu. For over 10 years, Owner and Chef Laurel Moore has taken this inspiration and has created a ambiance and menu that has the feel of a mediterranean retreat, authentic destination, and local Ojai escape. We strive to provide the tastiest and freshest ingredients while preparing our dishes with the pure natural flavor of farm driven produce and flavors. We offer organic, vegan, Paleo, gluten free, vegetarian, and other dietary restricted options as well as healthy nutritional options for kids. Our dishes are designed to meet the needs of Everyone who walks through our historic doors. We cater to couples nights out, large parties and receptions, wedding events, Happy Hour connoisseurs, anniversary celebrations, outdoor dining, Tapas tastings, wine tastings, beer samplings, corporate events, and have a wide variety of Tapas and Celebration menus to choose from. Whether you are looking to escape from the hustle bustle of the city or are an Ojai local in need of a special night out. Our destination style atmosphere and farm fresh California Tapas, fresh juice cocktails, and local wine and beer, is the perfect place to find sanctuary within a culinary inspired establishment.

“Cycle friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

If you happen to be doing the Ventura to Ojai bike trail this is a perfect spot to stop for lunch before you head back. With outside seating you can simply hop off your bike and place your bikes out of the way next to your table. The restaurant is situated on the main street so there is some vehicle noise but it was nothing that was a problem for us. If you are trying to stay healthy then there appears to be some great salad choices, we did the Syrian which was lovely. I don't know if the bread is freshly baked in the restaurant but it was sooo good it vanished in minutes off our table. The service was good and the staff were all very friendly and knew the menu well. The bathrooms were very clean.

“Nice Local Palce”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We had lunch here and the food was pretty good. I give it a solid B. Homemade gelato was not very good, which was a shame.

“Good, but skip the flan”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We had four nice salads, and four nice dinners (although the seafood paella and cioppino were a little dry from overcooking). The flan was grainy and unsatisfactory. Atmosphere and service was enjoyable.

“Lovely lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

My husband and I had lunch here. We sat outside and the service we received was great. Because we were in the middle of a very long bike ride, we ordered light: the Syrian chicken salad which was amazing and the lamb kabobs which tasted great (I'm an Aussie and I LOVE lamb!!). We have no complaints with our experience and will be happy to go back again.

“Excellent Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

My wife and I had their paella. It was the best paella. we have eaten in a restaurant, the sea food
was succulent and saffron rice was amazing. The shrimp, scallops, mussels were perfectly cooked. Their wine list is very good, and the ambiance is great, with real table cloths and cloth napkins. They also have a excellent array of tapas, the lamb kabobs is very very good.
